Last evening, we brought our performance to a group of precious women in recovery. ❤️
We brought dinner. We shared tears and laughter. And most importantly, we brought a message of hope.
The gentleman pictured here ( with the violin) shared his powerful testimony with the women. He spoke openly about his struggles with drug addiction, his time in prison, and the multiple overdoses that nearly cost him his life. He also shared his love for crafting and playing the violin—and how Jesus delivered him from addiction and gave him a new purpose.
But then something unexpected happened.
Among the women in the audience was a young lady who had made her way to the program all the way from Texas. She, too, played the violin. When I learned this, I invited her to come forward and play for us.
And she did.
It was beautiful. As the bow moved across the strings, the room fell silent. You could have heard a pin drop. For a few moments, the music spoke in a way that words cannot.
As the evening came to a close, I invited anyone who needed prayer to come forward.
One woman came forward and gave her life to Jesus.
Another approached in tears. She was already a believer, but she was carrying a burden no mother should have to bear. Her son had recently been incarcerated for murder. He refuses her calls and letters and wants nothing to do with her.
I prayed with this heartbroken mother. I prayed that God would soften her son's heart, that her tears would not be in vain, and that one day her son would come to know the God of the Bible.
Sin carries consequences, and sometimes those consequences reach far beyond the person who made the choices. But even in the midst of heartbreak, we believe there is room for prayer, redemption, and hope.
That is why we do what we do. Because behind every struggle is a human being. Behind every addiction is a story. And even when life seems broken beyond repair, we believe God is still at work.
Thank you to everyone who stands with us, supports us, and makes it possible to bring these moments of hope to people who desperately need them. You are part of this ministry, too.
ONE MORE THING… A SPECIAL REQUEST 🎻
As we were leaving, I overheard the young woman from Texas talking about her desire to stay clean. After having the opportunity to play the violin again, she expressed how much she wished she had her own instrument so she could continue playing.
That conversation stayed with me.
Music can be more than a hobby. It can be an outlet, a source of healing, and something positive to hold on to when life gets difficult.
So, I'm hoping to find a violin for her.
If you have a violin sitting unused in a closet, gathering dust, or simply waiting for someone who will appreciate it, would you consider donating it to us? We'd also be happy to discuss purchasing one at an affordable price.
Please reach out to me if you can help.
Let's see if we can put a violin into the hands of a young woman who is fighting for a new beginning.
Sometimes hope comes through a testimony. Sometimes it comes through prayer. And sometimes, it comes through a few beautiful notes played on a violin.
Finally, just an update; we are still in the thick of rehearsals and hoping to bring my play “Platform Seven” and free dinner theatre to a community near you as soon as possible. Look for updates on our page.
Thank you for helping us make a difference.
