Some of the best engine company firefighters aren’t built in classrooms β€” they’re built stretching lines, moving with purpose, communicating under pressure, and mastering the fundamentals until they become instinct.

DAGUM is bringing that mindset to the Heroes in the Heartland Conference.

On Monday, June 8th, the Dagum Cadre will lead:

πŸ”₯ Street Smart Engine Company Operations πŸ”₯

Hosted during our hands-on fire training at Yukon Fire Department, this program focuses on the real-world engine company skills firefighters rely on at every fire.

Students will operate charged hose lines in realistic training environments while developing the positioning, coordination, communication, and movement needed for success on the fireground.

Training topics include:
πŸš’ Proper flow fundamentals
πŸš’ Nozzle grip and control techniques
πŸš’ Crew positioning and responsibilities
πŸš’ Hose line advancement and retreat operations
πŸš’ Identifying and correcting common operational mistakes
πŸš’ Working around obstacles and interior challenges

The Dagum Cadre is known for aggressive, experience-driven instruction rooted in practical fireground application, firefighter development, and preparing crews for the realities of the modern fire service.

This class is designed for firefighters who want street-proven engine company training they can immediately apply back at their departments.

GCFR and Geronimo VFD Partnership Leads to Rapid Response That Helped Save Local Home

Guadalupe County Fire Rescue crews assigned to the newly staffed Geronimo fire station recently responded to a residential structure fire in the Navarro Ranch subdivision, arriving on scene in approximately four minutes after dispatch.

Because firefighters were already positioned within the community through the partnership between Guadalupe County Fire Rescue and the Geronimo Volunteer Fire Department, crews were able to immediately begin fire attack and search operations, significantly limiting fire extension and helping save the home.

This incident highlights the importance of strategically staffing fire stations in growing areas of Guadalupe County and continuing strong partnerships with local volunteer fire departments to enhance emergency response capabilities and improve outcomes for residents.

β€œPartnerships like this with Geronimo VFD allow our firefighters to already be positioned within the community they serve. When emergencies happen, minutes matter. Having full-time staffing at the Geronimo station allows crews to respond immediately, begin rescue and suppression operations faster, and greatly improve outcomes for our residents and community,” said Patrick Pinder, Guadalupe County Fire Marshal/Emergency Management Coordinator.

Guadalupe County remains committed to strengthening emergency services through partnerships, station staffing, and regional coordination to meet the needs of the county’s growing population.
