Newton barrel racers! A post we should NOT have to make, but please do NOT dispose of used syringes with needles in the fair grounds trash after giving them to your horses, all your sharps trash from the race should be taken home with you, this is not an appropriate disposal for your needles! We are all guests to the Newton saddle club and we would like to keep going back there, so please be courteous and take care of your area before leaving these races!

TODAY IS RACE DAY!

2nd race of our Beat the Heat series in Newton!

Entries are open at https://sgpevents.net/?page=login&forevt=3250, please go get pre entered if you plan to attend!

NOTE - The nomination fees must be paid before points start to count.

Pre-Draw posted after 4pm.

Any late entries will be added to the END of the draw!

Exhibitions are FIRST COME FIRST SERVE! They normally sell out quick at this race.

Arrive in a timely manner if you want an exhibition, having it on SGP does NOT guarantee you will get one!

MOCK NFR APPAREL!

If you'd like your items mailed to you, please contact Brady at (620) 255-2524 and he can stick them in the mail! If you want to pick your items up, you can do that as well. Located outside of Rose Hill.

It looks like shipping will be about $6-$9 depending on how many items you got. You will have to Venmo or Paypal money for the shipping costs.

We are still waiting until AFTER Christmas/New Years before looking at possible reschedule dates. This weather is not motivating anyone to ride at the moment either.

Our Mock NFR Barrel Race is canceled due to the EHV outbreak.

Because we don’t know how long this outbreak is going to last, we are not going to reschedule at this time. We might revisit the idea after the holidays if there are any available dates in early 2026.

We will contact sponsors and see if they want to roll their sponsorship over to the 2026 show or a refund. I was able to put the buckle older on hold for now.

Mock NFR Merch - it’s all made and ready to be picked up. I’ll pick it up from Factory 233 and see who all needs their items mailed or I can also meet up with people.

Thank you all for understanding that we want the competitors safety to be our priority!

With the recent EHV outbreak at a couple of big barrel races recently, we will be talking to the fairgrounds tomorrow on the plans with our Mock NFR Barrel Race this Saturday. Things are not looking in our favor to have it this weekend. We will update everyone tomorrow! Please share!

‼️ATTENTION- HIRING BARREL SETTERS‼️

We are currently looking for barrel setters for the Mock NFR next Saturday the 22nd in Hutchinson! It will pay $12/hr and we would like to just get 3 people and if you are planning to run at the race you will be in charge of finding someone to cover you barrel while you do so. Please contact Breah through facebook or you can text her at 620-245-7552 if you are interested!

We just ask that the setter be present 10-15 mins before the first session at 11:30am! This race will likely go into early evening with a small break in between sessions and we will pay the setters through the tear down of arena wrap!
