We post a lot of weddings because that’s what we primarily host, but tbh, we host a lot of rehearsal dinners, too! Having both in one place makes things so smooth. The wedding party already knows where they’re going, everyone gets a chance to get the lay of the land, and at The Sonnet House you can even drop off items for the wedding day while you’re here.

It’s one less thing to worry about the next morning, so you can spend less time setting up and more time enjoying the day you’ve been waiting for. All that’s left to do is show up and get married!

Gracie + Tripp’s wedding day was the perfect way to kick off a full month of May weddings! We love running around the property with our couples (and favorite vendors), capturing all those little moments along the way. And when the payoff is a gallery as beautiful as theirs, well, that’s just the icing on the cake. Pun absolutely intended.

With the time change this weekend, we’re heading into earlier sunsets, earlier ceremonies, and earlier call times. It’s a little reminder that our 2026 wedding season is beginning to wind down, but we’re not done celebrating just yet! We still have plenty of wonderful couples to send down the aisle, and before we know it, we’ll be welcoming our 2027 couples, too.

Most of our couples hold both their ceremony and reception here with us, but not all! Katie + Griffin said “I do” at their church, Redeemer Community Church in Avondale, before celebrating with everyone later at The Sonnet House.

But can you imagine anything more special than having your own grandmother play the music for your wedding ceremony? Pass the kleenex please.

Having live music for your ceremony already higs emotionally then, to have that music come from the hands of Katie’s very own grandmother as she played for the ceremony? That’s the kind of memory that means a little more with every passing year.

Have you considered doing a first look with your bouquet? Neither did Chloe BUT we had a free minute while we were getting her Grandfather in place for their first look. With photographers in place, Ellen took Chloe her bouquet knowing fully what a moment it was about to be.

You see, Chloe loves flowers and Ellen matches energy so naturally the two of them had many, many conversations about the floral design specifically. Seeing her reaction is fuel for our fire because THIS is why we love our jobs so much.

It’s been a whole year since Katelyn + Trey’s wedding day! These two had such a romantic weekend, and one of our favorite things was getting to spend a little extra time with them wandering around The Sonnet House for portraits. Since there was no wedding party, timeline wise it was just the two of them soaking it all in and taking it all in together.

And then there was the reception… let’s just say their guests knew how to celebrate! It was one of those parties that people are still talking about long after the last song played.

Happy first anniversary, Katelyn + Trey! Here’s to many more years of love, laughter, and reasons to celebrate!

If we could bottle up one wedding day and keep it forever, Cathryn + Grant’s would be a pretty strong contender.

We loved getting to work with their families throughout the wedding and rehearsal dinner planning process and then watching all those months of decisions, details, and ideas come together into one very pretty wedding day. And, naturally, there was a lot of pink. From the prettiest flowers to the block print pajamas the girls wore while getting ready, followed by those gorgeous satin bridesmaid dresses for the ceremony, pink made its way into just about every corner of the day. We loved this one from start to finish and we’re still reliving all the pretty details.

We love a tablescape with some personality! Instead of repeating one centerpiece over and over, Savannah + Jarrett’s wedding receptione mixed scale, height, color, shape, and texture throughout the reception. Some tables got our larger arrangements, while others were built around taper candles, bud vases, and smaller floral moments.

It keeps the eye moving and gives guests something new to notice at every table.

Alabama got its first true taste of fall this weekend and these little throw blankets always make the perfect accessory to stay warm during an outdoor reception. If you’re worried about having extras afterward, just remember they can always go home as favors or be donated to your local animal shelter.
