Whether you decide to do an outfit change by preference or out of necessity to be able to move and dance freely, or even just want something lighter because you’re hot and sweaty, it’s up to you! We always recommend bringing whatever outfit you wore to the rehearsal dinner with you to the reception venue so that you always have a back up outfit if needed - even if you have no plans of changing.

Livi + Caleb’s wedding day in December was full of so many gorgeous details and romantic moments that it’s impossible to know where to start sharing! Cake always seems like a great place to start, you know? Their tall-tiered wedding cake from was a centerpiece itself! Delicious buttercream icing decorated with sliced fruit and tropical blooms? One year ago Eva, Colin, and their guests ‘went for it’ and said their vows outdoors with a light sprinkle that bothered no one. It moved out and quickly as it popped up and the rest of the evening was perfection as they dined and danced under the stars on our back patio. Happy Anniversary you two!

There are so many spots at The Sonnet House that are perfect for a first look. The most popular is our porches and Ellen’s favorite spot is in tbe small (hidden) field behind our ceremony stage, but Livi + Caleb’s at our courtyard entrance with their beautiful floral arch in the background may be a new favorite spot!

Our giant arborvitae trees are green year round so it’s ideal for winter weddings too! I mean, would you believe this photo ws taken on December 13?

Have you heard of the southern tradition, or old wives tale, that if you bury bourbon at the spot of your wedding ceremony 30 days before the wedding that you will avoid rain on your wedding day?

Of course, there are never any promises, but our couples who have done this have had amazingly good luck! This is something that needs to be arranged through us for scheduling purposes but it’s always something we’re happy to help plan. Blue and green are two of our favorite color combos because they both look great with nearly any other colors but also because there are so many shades of each. Autumn + Paul embraced both fully and with the expert guidance from their wedding planner Corrie Stephens Events, LLC, no detail was left out. We especially loved their koozies and how they popped against the custom white and green trim bar!

Yes, we’d love for your fur babies to be involved in your wedding day - whatever that means to you! Our pups mean the world to us and we know yours do too. A few priceless tips to make it easy for everyone:
1. Put someone in charge that isn’t a part of the wedding party.
2. We all love our leash that has been on 3,000 hikes but it looks like it has too, so invest in something new even if it’s just solid black or white.
3. Remember food, treats, & water; of course we’ll have water but some pups are real picky about their bowls.
4. P**p happens - bring bags 🤣

Wedding days are built on so much love, and behind nearly every beautiful moment is a mom making magic happen quietly in the background. The planners, the cheerleaders, the honorary therapists, the dance floor queens — we see you.
Today we celebrate the mothers who stood beside their children on one of the biggest days of their lives, and we also hold space for the couples carrying the absence of a mom or mother figure on their wedding day. Love shows up in many forms, and those missing pieces are felt just as deeply.
Happy Mother’s Day to every mom, bonus mom, grandmother, aunt, sister, and mother figure who help make wedding days so meaningful. We couldn’t do it without you.

It’s been 366 days since Olivia + James said their vows to each other, but you can’t convince us it wasn’t yesterday! Planning with them and their families was a real treat, everyone was so involved and wanted to make sure that they had the best day possible! We are forever grateful that they chose to start their forever with us. Happy anniversary you guys!
