We’re celebrating a beautiful new chapter for Claire (Bishop) Frye, Miss Indiana State Fair 2023, who married her husband, Avery, in May! 💍

Claire looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day, and we couldn’t be happier for the newlyweds! We’re happy to share a few glimpses from their special day and send our best wishes to Claire and Avery as they continue this new chapter.

We’re so grateful to have Claire as a part of the Indiana State Fair family, and we’ll always be cheering her on through life’s special moments. Wishing Claire and Avery a lifetime of love, laughter, and wonderful memories together! 🤍

It's difficult to put into words the sadness so many of our Queen Program family are feeling while processing the news that our friend, Kristin Craig has passed away. Kristin was a fierce champion of our program, fellow members of the Former Queens Club, and the Indiana county fair queen programs she followed and assisted over the years.

Kristin will forever be Miss Indiana State Fair 1998, the 40th Indiana State Fair Queen, and the fourth woman I had the privilege of supervising during my long-term tenure as the Program Coordinator. (Fun fact, her 3rd Runner-Up in August 1997 was Jackson County, mom of our 2026 Miss Indiana State Fair, Presley Hampton, something Kristin found very exciting!) She loved the program so much and was the best hype woman to support it and our girls. With her big smile and kind heart, she was quick to pass along compliments she'd heard about the current Miss Indiana State Fair so that, as the Queen's "boss," I knew she was doing an excellent job. We shared news of our Formers and friends, and she excitedly told me about the county queen pageants she judged, often passing along thumbs-up for the directors, contestants, and the county representative she was happy to have selected.

Kristin was PROUD of the Indiana State Fair, our Queen Program, and her place in it's history. And we are proud of the woman she was and her accomplishments, every fabulous one of them. We offer our heartfelt condolences to Kristin's family and loved ones. What a blessing her friendship was to so many. - Bobbi Bates

The Coliseum is empty. The rides are cleared out. The barns are silent. The aroma of fair food is gone. The 2026 Indiana State Fair has officially come to an end.
The Indiana State Fair isn’t just a place to come have fun. It’s a place where the Hoosier community comes together. It’s a place to celebrate Indiana agriculture, recognize and educate our youth, support hardworking 4-H’ers, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
For the past 15 days, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to experience so much of what makes this fair so special. From the barns and Pioneer Village to the grandstand, parades, free stage, fair food, rides, and countless conversations with fairgoers, every day brought something new. I’ve met so many incredible people, learned more than I could have imagined, and made memories I will carry with me for years to come.
To everyone who worked behind the scenes, showed an animal, entered an exhibit, volunteered, performed, served up fair food, rode a ride, or simply walked through the gates. You are what makes the Indiana State Fair so special.
Thank you, Indiana, for welcoming me with open arms and making these past 15 days some of the best I’ll ever remember. My heart is so full.

Day 15 at the Indiana State Fair 🎡
This day was filled with a little bit of everything! I watched the baton twirling competition, checked out the car show, and even got a caricature drawn. Over in Pioneer Village, I somehow found myself taken hostage during the train robbery! 🚂 I also had the honor of watching Supreme Showmanship, celebrating some incredible exhibitors and all the hard work they’ve put in. Today brought so many lasts and goodbyes. It’s bittersweet watching the fair come to a close, but I’m leaving with a heart full of memories, new friendships, and so much gratitude. What a way to spend 15 days at the Indiana State Fair!❤️

Day 14 at the Indiana State Fair! 🎡
Another busy day at the Indiana State Fair! I got to watch the dog show, cheer on the talented performers in the Youth Talent Contest, and step back in time at Hooks Drug Store. I even got to judge the mullet competition, definitely not something you get to do every day! Of course, I had to try another Taste of Fair item, this time the lemon shake-up float, and I took my turn at watermelon seed catapulting. Let’s just say… my aim could use some work. 😂🍉 I also loved getting to visit the FFA Building. There’s truly something special about seeing that blue jacket that represents so much.

Day 13 at the Indiana State Fair🎡
A day full of more fun starting in Pioneer Village. I made hand-dipped candles and decorated them with flowers! (And ate MORE Indiana honey!) I enjoyed lunch in Pioneer Village and spent some time learning more about the amazing people that make this village a highlight of our great state fair. I also had the opportunity to pass out ribbons at the Dairy Whether Show before enjoying the daily parade! So great to see so many familiar & new people enjoying their time here. I now LOVE putting the T-shirt cannons to use at the Free Stage BUT before finishing the evening had to have some ice cream from the Dairy Bar!🍦

Day 12 at the Indiana State Fair🎡
Today was another day full of fun at the fair! I loved celebrating the hardworking 4-H’ers at Fashion Revue, meeting the sweetest little fairgoer who gave the BEST hugs, and seeing all of the creative displays at “Can”struction. I tried LOTS of Taste of Fair today, and the Cornbread & ’Que was fantastic! I also got to put my customized microphone to use AND try out the T-shirt cannon for the first time!🎤Thank you to Alexxys Standish for spending the day with me! Another great day at the fair!

Working in Pioneer Village was such a special part of my time at the fair! Thank you for welcoming myself and past queens with open arms and allowing us to lend a hand. I’ve learned so many new things, made meaningful connections, and built relationships I’ll be forever thankful for. 🐝🌾

Day 11 at the Indiana State Fair🎡
A busy and meaningful day at the fair! I spent the day hard at work in Pioneer Village, where I also enjoyed a delicious lunch. Thank you to everyone in Pioneer Village for always making me feel so welcome! I then attended the Lifetime Pass Ceremony, celebrating the people who have dedicated so much time, heart, and effort to making The Great Indiana State Fair possible. I also had the honor of attending the Harvest Dinner, a phenomenal fundraising event supporting the Indiana State Fair. It was such a special evening celebrating the fair and the people who make it all possible!
