MEET OUR GUEST ARTIST: Damien Paul (Diode / The OOZE)

From dimly-lit warehouses to festival stages, Damien’s sets draw musically from his rave-inspired roots, blending styles to entrance his audiences and bring them along for the journey.

Damien was a long-standing resident DJ of Boston’s legendary after-hours nightclub, RISE, helping it earn the title of DJ Mag's 2012 #42 ranked club in the world. He was also the recipient of a Boston Magazine "2012 Best of Boston Award" for his residency at Good Life in downtown Boston.

Damien Paul has performed in support of world-class talent including Jay Lumen, John Dahlback, Drumcell, the Scumfrog, Eartha Harris, and Danny Daze. His sounds have been showcased on festival stages such as Love Burn (FL), Lakes of Fire (MI), Identity Festival (MA), Fractalfest (NY), It Takes a Village Fest (ME), Hydrotechnics Festival (NY), Firefly Arts Collective and Luna Burn (VT), Figment Boston (MA) and the Together Festival (MA).

Damien’s is a stalwart defender of underground music. As a co-founder of the Rabbit Revolution event and lifestyle brand, Damien inspired a generation of electronic music fans at events across New England. With the Cicada project, he further developed his prowess for art-focused afterhours events. And as booking manager and talent buyer for the historic venue, The Middle East Nightclub, Damien showcased emerging artists.

Today, Damien continues to explore and contribute to the intersection of art and music as the camp lead of DIODE, which produces one of the largest sound stages at the regional Burning Man event in Vermont.

He's a tastemaker, he's a technologist, he's a mad genius!

Who is Scandalous?? A real treat and more than just a double snack... here's why...

SCANDALOUS is the fresh hot duo made of Andy Kershaw (NDK) and DJ Scott Carlson. Founding member of VT's No Fun Records, Kershaw has artistic roots in both San Francisco and Boston dating back to the late 90s. Now based in Vermont, aka The Rave Little State, he has grown the No Fun brand beyond the city limits of Burlington and into such locales as Washington DC & Dhaka Banglades. Andy's prowess is only eclipsed by his serious level of silliness and intense commitment to cultivating community. Kershaw's counterpart, Scott Carlson, is also a community champion, doling out free license to freak to all those around him wherever he goes. He's a heart of gold and a fierce advocate for LQBTQIA2S+ youth. Scott discovered a love for deep, nuanced, grooving melodic house and techno music while on the dance floor at Club Stereo in Montreal and has been bringing this style with his own flavor to the Burlington area since 2015. You may have caught him churning the vibe at a "Burly-Bear" party in Burlington, laying down solid gold disco at a big Burning thing in the woods of VT, or maybe you remember his last set at R&R during the No Fun Intended Takeover last year... either way, nothing has prepared you, they say...
