Blueprint HackMIT presents MIT Blueprint, an exciting high school virtual learnathon and hackathon. February 19-20, 2022.

Blueprint is a two day learnathon and hackathon where high school students work together in teams to design and build their own technical projects. It will be held virtually from February 19-20, 2022, and all levels of coding experience are welcome! At Blueprint's Day 1 learnathon, we will teach students programming skills through mentor-guided workshops and pair them with highly qualified undergr

aduate and industry mentors. At the Day 2 hackathon, students will get to experience the full hackathon experience.

Leo McElroy builds digital systems, physical tools, and communities to help people express themselves and pursue their curiosity with technology. He's created tools for democratizing personal automation (including programming languages for parametric design), traveled the world visiting makerspaces, and created and ran a few makerspaces himself. He leads the clubs team at Hack Club, a global network of coding clubs created and run by teenagers. At Hack Club he designs learning tools and experiences to help people discover the joy of programming.

MIT-PIT-RW is a collaboration of 4 schools writing the software for autonomous racecars! Our student-led team competes in the Indy Autonomous Challenge and Roborace, and seeks to advance practical autonomy through collaboration and competition. Our cars race head to head at speeds of up to 180MPH for prizes of up to $1M.

Andrew is a 2nd year Leaders for Global Operations student at MIT, pursuing an MBA and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to MIT, he was a nuclear submarine officer in the US navy for 7 years, serving on the USS Pittsburgh, and also working at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. He led the MIT Driverless team, and co-captained the joint MIT-PIT-RW team until this January, when he left the team in Cindy's capable hands. After graduation this spring he will be headed to Zoox as a technical product manager, where he will continue to work on advancing the state of autonomous vehicles.

Cindy is a 1st year MBA student at MIT. Prior to MIT, she was a corporate development & strategy intern at TuSimple, a leading autonomous trucking company, and has also worked in roles across venture capital and startups. She joined MIT Driverless on the business operations team before taking on the co-captain role for the team.

MIT Poker Club provides a fun, spirited learning environment for poker enthusiasts and novices alike! Throughout the year, we organize workshops, study breaks, tournaments, and more to enhance members' analytical and mathematical skills used in poker strategies, with an emphasis on understanding decision making processes.

MIT Pokerbots is a computerized poker tournament. Teams have one month to program a completely autonomous pokerbot which competes against other bots in a unique poker variant. Competitors must learn and apply concepts in mathematics, computer science, and economics not normally developed together in academic settings in order to conquer their opponents and emerge victorious.

Kathleen is a junior studying computer science and brain and cognitive sciences. She serves as co-president of AIM Labs, where she previously worked on projects using pose estimation and sentiment analysis models. Kathleen has additional interests in computational neuroscience and AI policy. In her free time, Kathleen enjoys doing crossfit, exploring Boston, and reading about history.

UI/UX@MIT is a undergraduate and graduate student group focused on generating greater exposure, knowledge, and interest in user interface and user experience. Members can learn more about the field via our workshops and speaker series, which provide opportunities to network with professionals in the field.

In the Designing the Web workshop, Sohini and Olivia will walk through an overview of UI/UX, the UX design process, and UI visual illusions. They will also compare and critique designs and cap it off with an interactive design session where they will build a travel app!

Sohini is a Masters student in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with an interest in web development and user psychology. She started UI/UX@MIT to bring more education about design principles with a focus on implementation.

Olivia is an undergraduate student studying Computer Science with an interest in data visualization. For the past 3 years, she has interned at Bloomberg LP in the Visual Applications department.
