We’re growing!

We’re excited to officially welcome two new part-time members to the Downtown Calhoun team!

This summer, Alicia Reeves joined us as our Community Development Coordinator, bringing more than a decade of experience in nonprofit work, grants, fundraising, strategic planning, and community engagement. We’re excited to put her experience and passion for community development to work right here in Downtown Calhoun.

And this month, we welcome Pam Mills as our new Main Street Coordinator! Many of you already know Pam as the longtime owner of downtown favorite Pintage. After recently passing the business on to a new owner, she’s bringing her firsthand experience as a downtown business owner, her love for our community, and plenty of energy and ideas to the DDA and Main Street team.

We’ve got a lot of work to do, a lot of exciting ideas on the table, and now we have an even bigger team to help make them happen.

Sew Happy Fabric and Crafts is getting a little visit from Cinderella this weekend! ✨ If you have a little princess who loves all things magical, this is going to be such a sweet evening.

In preparation for the Cinderella movie at Friends of Calhoun's GEM Theatre on Sunday, September 13th, Sew Happy Fabric & Crafts is hosting a very exciting meet and greet with Cinderella herself on Saturday, September 12th at 6:30PM!

The evening will include photos with Cinderella, magical crafts, and lots of memories to take home.

And just for a little extra magic… every princess registered for this event will have a chance to win a Cinderella American Girl Doll!

This Labor Day, we recognize and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers who help make our community strong and vibrant. We are grateful for all who serve, build, care for, and contribute to the well-being and success of our city.

A special thank you to our Public Works, Utilities, and Community Development departments, whose work behind the scenes keeps our downtown clean, connected, cared for, and growing—helping create a welcoming and wonderful place for our residents, businesses, and visitors to enjoy.
