(Tues, June 9) Find your bee community at the monthly meeting Beekeepers Club of Gwinnett County
There's something extra SWEET about belonging to the Beekeepers Club of Gwinnett County! We became members about four years ago right after we were inspired by our friend, Georgia Zumwalt, and we have never looked back.
Through the years we have been able to meet and work with some of the most wonderful people. We have come to the realization that most bee keepers we know are the kind, gentle, caring, and giving people. Even the bees recognize their tender touch as they are tended, cared for, and nourished. This is a picture of our friend, Steve Horton. Steve is the Vice President of the Club, but he is also our Bee Mentor. We loved his shirt so much that we just had to take this picture. It says, "Caution, I'm a bee keeper. If you see my running, try to keep up!" Doesn't that make you smile?
This week, our club had their regular monthly meeting. The scheduled speaker was not able to come, so our amazing club jumped into action (just like bee keepers do) and decided to create the meeting as a "Masters Q & A" seesion for members to ask questions and troubleshoot issues they were having with their hives. Dan, Harold, and Steve, our resident experts, spent the evening sharing their knowledge, expertise, and love for keeping honey bees. Now, isn't that just the best?
Our club meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at Hebron Christian Academy in Dacula. We invite you to join us if you have bees or are interested in keeping bees. We always have a great time together and questions are always answered.
Sweet as can BEE!
