Halloween was Ray Bradbury's favorite holiday, as I'm sure it is for most of us here!

There's a nice article called Ray Bradbury's Guide to Throwing the Best Halloween Party by American Writers Museum, incorporating The Halloween Tree to practical advice to throw a party!

And then once you're done, check out their virtual museum exhibit on Ray Bradbury!

Have a safe and fun Halloween friends!!

Thankfully the reasonable advice isn’t often followed in horror movies!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

We've gotten a lot of feedback asking if our special event next year might include stop-motion works by other animators and have decided to broaden the scope of our celebration!

Monsterama's The Magic of Stop-Motion Animation will now include works and artists from the entire history of the medium rather than focusing on a single artist. The recent critical and popular success of Laika Studios' Wildwood has inspired a groundswell of interest in stop-motion and hand crafted effects, and we want to honor that spirit and proliferate it. We'll still be paying homage to Ray, but now we'll be taking a 360 degree view of the craft and hope you'll join us!

Monsterama's Celebration - The Magic Of Stop-Motion Animation takes place August 6-8, 2027 at the Atlanta Marriott Northeast/Emory Hotel. Discounted tickets and hotel rooms are available now at MonsteramaCon.com.

See you there!

Today is Bela Lugosi's birthday! A great way to celebrate this icon is sharing his recipe for stuffed cabbage rolls. Found in the book "It Came From the Kitchen".

At the same time, we can also pay tribute to another wonderful man, David J. Skal (Monsterama alumni) who we lost a few years ago. He appeared on the Youtube channel Hollywood Kitchen put out by Karie Bible and walked her through Bela's favorite recipe! You can watch that video here: https://youtu.be/8yPFt4HH5TY?si=eeciow4SUy_f3fmI&t=103
