Our first edition is done, and all that we can say is - WOW!

To everyone who attended our concerts, thank you for supporting contemporary music in our community! To our amazingly talented and driven student participants, you have inspired us all, and we hope that you take all that we discussed back to your school music programs and will join us agin next year! To the City of Alpharetta Recreation, Parks, Cultural Services, without your support and partnership, F&F could not have happened!

To our Faculty Artists Ginevra Petrucci, Andy Hudson, Steven Banks, saxophone, Brandyn Taylor, Justin Waller and Daniel Pate, thank you for bringing your artistry to Alpharetta, GA through concerts and teaching, and for believing in what we do!

Our concerts featured music from over 20 living composers and we will include our programs below. F&F also gave the world premiere of two brand new works written by Flannery Cunningham and Peter Van Zandt Lane.

We want to also thank our collaborative concert venues, Thrive Coworking and South Main Kitchen (unfortunately cancelled due to the rain) for supporting contemporary music.

Please enjoy some of the photos taken during the festival by Brittany Hudson, Steve Hudson and Nathan Hudson. Our logo was designed by Victor Boyda.

We will see you all next year!

Before there was the Forage & Flourish Contemporary Music Festival, there was the Community Music Project (CMP)!

The CMP is a series of five YouTube videos, each introducing a brand new piece of music that you, your friends, your children, anybody (with or without musical experience) can engage with and perform! The music is written by Kevin Day, Alex Temple and myself.

The scores are linked in the YT videos, so check them out and make some music! Each video explains everything that you, your family, or your students will need to know in order to perform each work!

The Forage & Flourish Contemporary Music Festival is a new music event presented in partnership with the City of Alpharetta, with concerts featuring internationally acclaimed artists showcasing music written exclusively by living, powerful composers, two student workshops and an event for children.

The Student Workshops will provide high school youth in our community with an opportunity to learn from and engage with top music faculty from institutions all over the country while preparing several new works and discussing contemporary performance techniques, college preparation and more. Our Children's Workshop will be a fantastic opportunity to introduce younger children (and their parents!) to contemporary music through interactive performance and group engagement.

Our concerts will take place throughout Downtown Alpharetta (stay tuned for the locations and presenting collaborators to be announced!), and our workshops will be held at the Alpharetta Arts Center. Two brand new works written by Flannery Cunningham (Philadelphia based composer) and Peter Van Zandt Lane (The University of Georgia) will receive a premiere during this event, and the composers will be in attendance (virtually, if not in person). These concerts will be free and open to the public.
