PsiFi was born in 2010 with a clear-cut purpose – to inculcate a sense of scientific adventurism and a passion for creation in the new scientists of Pakistan. A country where science is given precedence over all other fields of study, there is an impressive number of science institutions in Pakistan which are dedicated to imparting facts and concepts to their students. ists from Pakistan consists of bright, spunky and highly-talented individuals that hunger for a chance to show off their creative passion and want more than just textbook knowledge. The LUMS PsiFi provides such a chance to them. It is an initiative where ripe young minds can gather at one place and compete against each other in competitions designed to bring forth and foster their technical and creative acumen. We at PsiFi believe that there is no innovation without the sharing of knowledge and the imparting of ideas. Our participants are handpicked and selected on basis of merit to come together under one, very extensive roof to share their passion without the boundaries of textbooks or limitations set by examinations. The popularity of PsiFi grows every year by leaps and bounds. The first episode of PsiFi featured 13 different events, spanning all fields of elementary science; Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science, and around 700 participants took part in these events collectively. The second episode of the Science Olympiad, PsiFi’11, took place in January 2011 at LUMS where it expanded to include 14 different events and was immensely popular amassing over 4000 applications from all over Pakistan – 800 were short listed and got to participate. The following PsiFi's were just as grand and successful. PsiFi 2022 – will be grander than its predecessors. It is being planned as an International Science Event and will focus on making the participants feel the empowerment that science brings with it. With the patronage of LUMS SSE and support of few government organizations, PsiFi 2022 is bound to be an enriching and meaningful experience. Pakistan has produced names in history that have left their mark on this world through their scientific genius - now it’s time for the new generation to take the stage and Experience, Experiment and Explore!
