The artists :
PAUL GELIBERTE is a clarinetist and music educator from Santa Maria Bulacan. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from the Conservatory of Music of the Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas (UST), Manila, in 2011, graduating at the age of 19 under the tutelage of Prof. Ariel Sta. Ana. In 2008, he was awarded Second Prize in the inaugural Woodwind Competition hosted by the UST Conservatory of Music. He later won Second Prize in the prestigious National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) in 2009.
In 2024, Paul completed his Master of Music in Clarinet Performance at the Philippine Women's University, where he continued his advanced studies with Prof. Ariel Sta. Ana. His mentors also include Prof. Dalmacio Cruz, Leo Halili, and David Blumberg.
As an orchestral musician, Paul has performed with several notable ensembles, including the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, UST Symphony Orchestra, UST Wind Orchestra, 9works Theatrical, and Band 31 Original Santa Maria Bulacan.
As a woodwind performer, he has also appeared as a flutist, clarinetist, and saxophonist in international musical productions, including Beauty and the Beast and Snow White in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as well as The Bodyguard: The Musical with 9 Works Theatrical at the Proscenium Theater in Manila.
Paul is the only Filipino clarinetist who performs professionally on a german system clarinet.
ARIEL VILLALUZ PEREZ is one of the Philippines’ distinguished woodwind artists, recognized for his versatility as both a bassoonist and recorder player. He received his musical training from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and St. Paul University Manila.
Ariel has represented the Philippines in prestigious international music festivals and workshops. Following a highly competitive audition, he was selected to participate in the inaugural Pacific Music Festival in Hokkaido, Japan (1990), under the artistic direction of Leonard Bernstein and Michael Tilson Thomas, performing alongside members of the London Symphony Orchestra. In the same year, he joined the Asian Youth Orchestra under Yehudi Menuhin and toured throughout Asia, and was subsequently accepted to the renowned Aspen Music Festival in Colorado, USA.
An accomplished orchestral musician, Ariel has performed with leading ensembles across Asia and Europe, including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Macau Sinfonietta, Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra (London), Manila Symphony Orchestra, and various chamber orchestras in Malaysia. As a soloist, he has appeared with the Guildhall School Orchestra, Hong Kong Chamber Camerata Orchestra, Cebu Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Manila Symphony Orchestra, performing major works such as Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto and Sinfonia Concertante.
Equally passionate about early music, Ariel developed a deep affinity for the recorder during his studies in Hong Kong, inspired by a masterclass with internationally acclaimed virtuoso Michala Petri. He has since championed the instrument through chamber music performances in the Philippines.
Dedicated to music education and artistic development, Ariel has served as a faculty member and mentor in numerous programs, including the Salvador and Sala Foundation’s development initiative for the Cebu Philharmonic Orchestra. He currently teaches bassoon, sight-singing, and ear training at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, where he continues to inspire the next generation of Filipino musicians through his artistry, scholarship, and commitment to musical excellence.
DENISE FAITH L. SEE is a pianist, accompanist, and piano teacher from Manila, Philippines. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of esteemed pedagogue Prof. Anthony Say, graduating Summa cm Laude, as well as receiving the Rector’s Award for Academic Excellence.
She then proceeded with her master’s degree in Piano
Performance at the National Taiwan Normal University, studying under award- winning concert pianist Prof. Chun-Chieh Yen.
A third prize winner of the 2nd Thailand International Mozart Piano Competition, she is also a four-time National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) winner, winning 2nd place in both Category A1 and A2, and Honorable Mention in Category B and Category C. She was able to have her debut recital with the Manila Symphony Orchestra at the age of 15, and since then has been performing in recitals both as soloist and as part of an ensemble. In 2018, she performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 with the UST Symphony Orchestra and the ABS- CBN Philharmonic Orchestra in their joint concert “Ugnayan sa Tugtugan.”
Since coming back from her studies abroad, she has started her own studio which provides online and face- to face piano lessons to students of all age groups. Her students range from beginner to advanced levels. Aside from teaching in her studio, she has also been serving as both vocal and instrumental accompanist for various recitals.
