dairy farming, Organic cultivation etc. has opened up new possibilities to rural life and
economy. Weaving and Bamboo craft has been always a pride for this region; local
artisans have always contributed to the economy and conservation of the craft with
their creative works. A large number of Hindu Temples of Lord Bishnu and Shiva, established at Bihaguri
region has always attracted pilgrims across the state. Moreover, these have
potential possibilities of Cultural tourism and can even attract folklorists as there
prevails many lore and anecdotes around these places. To name a few Shri Shri
Goga Than, Shri Shri Bowalguri Than, Shri Shri Kolia Guxai Than, Gabharu Yogashram
Shiva Mandir are places which can attract a wide range of tourist. The influence of modern materialism has made human beings feel disconnected
from the root. Negligence towards own culture and literature has been maximized
day by day. In this high time of globalization we want to relive our past, our own
culture, our own crafts. What if our hand weaved Mekhela–Chadar beautifies an
American lady?? What if our river fish from the mighty Brahmaputra gives mouth
watering appetite to the guy from Mississippi?? All we want is to explore the
possibilities of our local product in the global market and thus contribute to the
