Grove Park Theatre is Wrexham’s oldest amateur theatre and is based in the town centre. We aim to provide the community of Wrexham with good value entertainment of a consistently high standard. Our shows range from comedy, drama and suspense through to costume plays, pantomimes and musicals. We are run entirely by volunteers and are always keen to welcome new members in both the adult and youth se

As we look back on the production, we are filled with pride and gratitude.
Once again, our cast and crew amazed us with what they achieved. Every production at Grove Park Theatre is powered by volunteers, and we are continually inspired by the dedication, passion, talent and countless hours our members pour into bringing these shows to life. What audiences see on stage is only possible because of the extraordinary effort that happens behind the scenes.

With the penultimate production of our centenary season now complete, there is just one show left to go...

🎭 As part of our centenary season, we have been celebrating some of the greatest and most memorable productions from across Grove Park Theatre’s 100 year history, and Loot is one of them. 🎭

Joe Orton’s brilliantly dark comedy was last performed here in 1974, and these photos perfectly capture the connection between past and present as our current cast recreate an image from that original production over 50 years ago.

It has been so special to revisit this fantastic play as part of our centenary celebrations, honouring the generations of performers and volunteers who have kept theatre alive at Grove Park for a whole century. 💛

🎭 Opening Night has arrived… Loot opens tonight! 🎭

What starts with two young men hiding stolen money quickly spirals into complete chaos in Joe Orton’s brilliantly dark comedy. With a missing fortune, a suspicious inspector, outrageous cover-ups and a house full of eccentric characters all trying to stay one step ahead; Loot is packed with sharp humour, farcical twists and moments that will have audiences laughing out loud.

These stunning dress rehearsal photographs by Stephen Cain capture just a glimpse of the wonderfully chaotic world our cast and crew have created on stage. After months of hard work, we are so excited to finally share this production with our audiences as part of our centenary season.

🎭 Behind every moment on stage is a whole team making the magic happen. 🎭

Today's technical rehearsal for Loot has brought together months of hard work from our cast, crew, lighting and sound teams and seeing it all come to life in the theatre has been incredibly rewarding.

From the audience, you’ll see the laughs, the chaos and the wonderfully quirky world of Joe Orton’s Loot. But behind the scenes are dedicated volunteers giving their evenings and weekends to create something truly memorable for our community.

We open on Tuesday, and there are still tickets available. If you are able to support local theatre this week, we would love for you to join us. 🎭 It’s Technical Weekend for Loot! 🎭

This weekend is one of the most exciting parts of the rehearsal process as lighting, sound, costumes and props all come together for the first time. Technical weekend is where the production really comes to life; every detail carefully brought together to prepare for opening night.

There is a real buzz in the theatre and after months of hard work, we are so excited to finally be just days away from sharing Loot with our audiences. Joe Orton’s brilliantly dark comedy is packed with eccentric characters, chaos, and laughter and our cast have worked incredibly hard to bring this wonderful production to the stage.

🎭 We are delighted to finally share some very exciting news…

After months of planning and collaboration, Grove Park Theatre is proud to be working in partnership with Wrexham Museum on the very first exhibition for the brand new museum when it opens this summer.

Together with Jonathan Gammond from Wrexham Museum, we have been exploring Grove Park Theatre’s rich archive and history to create an exciting interactive exhibition:

This exhibition celebrates a century of creativity, community, performance, and the many people who have helped shape Grove Park Theatre over the years. It has been a real privilege to work alongside Wrexham Museum to bring these stories to life and help showcase the important role local theatre has played within our community.

We are incredibly proud to be part of this landmark moment for the new museum and very excited for audiences to experience the exhibition when the doors open this summer.

There is much more to come, and we look forward to sharing further details with you soon! 🎉

The countdown is well and truly on, and we are so excited to finally share Joe Orton’s brilliantly dark comedy with our audiences. Filled with wonderfully eccentric characters, sharp humour, and plenty of unexpected twists, Loot is bursting with energy, chaos, and laughter from start to finish.

This production has been an absolute joy to bring to life and seeing everything come together on stage as part of our spectacular centenary season has been incredibly special. The cast and crew have worked so hard to create something truly entertaining, memorable, and full of character and we can’t wait to welcome you into the theatre to experience it with us.
