Bernies Big Bash The Heart of the Game – In Loving Memory of Bernie. In 1996, our dad Bernie passed away suddenly from a heart attack.

What an incredible journey it has been!

Now that our family fun day celebrating Bernie has taken place, Claire and her friends have completed their 10K, and Hayley, Harlan, Fletch and some amazing friends have conquered Scafell Pike, we're absolutely delighted to announce our latest fundraising total!

We are genuinely overwhelmed by the generosity and support we've received.

What started as an idea to celebrate Bernie's life, 30 years after we lost him, has turned into something truly special.

And the best bit? WE'RE NOT FINISHED YET! 🏏

Unfortunately, the torrential rain put a stop to our charity cricket tournament this year, but we're determined to complete what we started!

The tournament will now take place next year, and our fundraising for the British Heart Foundation will continue until then.

Restart a Heart Day takes place on Friday 16 October. This global day raises awareness of cardiac arrest and the lifesaving difference CPR and defibrillators can make. Here are four things we can all do to help give someone the best chance of survival:

1) Learn CPR and how to use a defibrillator. Anyone can learn with our free online training tool, RevivR. It only takes 15 minutes, and one day those skills could help save a life. https://www.bhf.org.uk/how-you-can-help/how-to-save-a-life/how-to-do-cpr/learn-cpr-in-15-minutes

2) In an emergency, every second counts. Knowing where to find your nearest defibrillator could save precious time and help save a life. Find yours here: https://www.defibfinder.uk/

3) Register your defibrillator on The Circuit. If there's a defibrillator in your workplace, community venue or organisation, make sure it's registered on The Circuit so ambulance services know where to find it when it's needed most. https://www.thecircuit.uk/

Thanks to all of your generosity, the amount raised for Bernies Big Bash has now surpassed £7,000! Claire and some of her Vixen’s friends recently completed a 10K run, raising more for the pot!

Next up, Hayley, Harlan, Fletcher and some amazing friends will be climbing Scarfell Pike. It would be great to see this amount keep growing in dad’s name and for this amazing charity!
