We also had members lending a hand at a local running event at the weekend. Disappointingly, Earl the lion isn’t one of our members (call us Earl, we’d love to chat…) but he’s too cute not to be in the photo 😜 Here’s a few words from Dan about the weekend.
On Sunday, five of us made the short jaunt over to Wolverhampton to help marshal their Half Marathon & 10k event. We were tasked with covering a small section of the route around West Park which included the split for the 10k and half marathon where runners had to be sent in different directions and a few out and back stretches. We also had the help of a few traffic control officers and a couple of other volunteers and managed to get all of the runners through safely and headed in the right direction! It's always good to support local events where possible, to help keep them going and keep our calendars full for next year.
Thanks Dan, Vicky, Karen, Claire and Tim for giving back to the local running community. This looks like a pretty quick local event if anyone is after an early Autumn road run for next year.
