5 reasons to introduce your preschool child to dance 🩰

1. Build their confidence
Learning a new step, joining in and celebrating little achievements helps children grow in confidence at their own pace.
2. Develop balance and coordination
Jumping, stretching and moving to music helps children practise balance, coordination and body awareness.
3. Make new friends
Dance offers a lovely opportunity to meet other children, take turns and feel part of a group.
4. Spark their imagination
From floating like butterflies to marching like soldiers, dance encourages creativity through music, movement and storytelling.
5. Practise listening and independence
Following simple instructions and joining in familiar routines helps children develop skills they can use beyond the studio.

At Footlight, our Cygnets classes for ages 3–4 offer a nurturing, playful introduction to ballet and tap.
