🥊 Next up from last weekend we have Jos Spencley, also fighting on Jon le Monniers show in Gillingham representing Tough love boxing. Jos has only been boxing a few years, but is game as they come, always up for taking a fight whilst juggling work and a young family. As tough as they come, Jos trains hard and is fully committed.Tge bout started at a fast pace with both boxers sizing each other up. Popping out the jab, and moving around the ring well. The first round going to Briggs. In the second round Spencley came out way more aggressively, pushing his opponent back using pressure and head movement with big shots being landed. Another close round we think was edged by Jos. The third and final round was a similar spectacle, with Jos being on the front foot, pressing the slick boxing of Briggs in the most entertaining round of the bout. The judges gave the decision to Tiaghe Briggs, but we are are so proud of Jos, the bout really could have gone the other way! We look forward to seeing Jos back in action on 2027
Well done champ. The whole team is proud of you 🥊

🥊 ANDY HALL — A VETERAN OF THE GAME 🥊
Fighting under the experienced coach and boxer Peter Mercer, out of Mercers Gym.

This one has been a long time coming…

Andy Hall has been around the fight game for years and has known Swanny for around a decade. The pair first met on the circuit and have built a genuine friendship ever since.

As Andy puts it:

“I know he’ll do anything for me, and vice versa. But we definitely won’t be taking it easy on each other!”

And that’s exactly what makes this one so exciting. 👊

Both men can entertain, pack a serious punch and take one just as well — so everything points towards an all-out war when those two finally share the ring.

The fight has been on the cards for as long as they’ve known each other. It’s even been billed a few times before, but circumstances on both sides have unfortunately prevented it from happening.

But now… it’s happening.

And Andy is genuinely looking forward to sharing the ring with his friend.

“I’m really looking forward to sharing the ring with my friend. A man I’ve cornered before and love. It’ll be an honour.”

But make no mistake — the friendship goes out the window once that bell rings. 🔔

“I’m gonna hit him hard. But it’s OK… I expect the same back.”

Two friends.

Ten years of history.

One ring.

And absolutely no holding back. 💥🥊

Andy Hall vs Swanny — this one has WAR written all over it.

🥊 THE BEAST AWAKENS 😈🥊

Now, most of you following the page will know all about James Livesey — one of the nicest, funniest and most helpful guys you could ever meet.

James is always willing to help others around the gym, sharing his experience and knowledge from years in the fight game. But when James steps through those ropes… he certainly lives up to his name.

The Beast. 😈

This Saturday, James travelled to Gillingham to fight on Jon Le Monier’s show, where he was the main event.

But this time, things were a little different…

The gloves were coming off.

This was bare-knuckle fighting. 👊

Huge respect goes to anyone willing to step into the ring and compete in what is arguably the purest form of combat sport — a form of fighting that dates back centuries.

And massive respect must go to James’ opponent, Nathan Massey — an absolute warrior who ducks nobody and is always willing to take on the toughest challenges.

The bout started with both men sizing each other up, popping out the jabs and looking for openings.

Then…

BOOM! 💥

James landed a huge right hand that sent Massey crashing to the canvas.

But in true warrior fashion, Nathan beat the count and was ready to carry on.

Massey then decided to make it a war, getting inside, clinching James around the back of the head and letting the shots go.

That, however, gave James the opportunity to go to work on the body.

And anyone who has seen James train will know — this man possesses some serious power in his body shots!

Once again, the body work proved too much for the incredibly game Massey, as James sent him down for a second time.

This time, Nathan was unable to continue and the referee waved the fight off in the very first round.

What a debut into bare-knuckle fighting for James. 👊🔥

A massive congratulations to James and everyone at Team Tough Love Boxing.

A huge thank you also goes to Coach Clive Gadd and Martin Lester Woodside for stepping in and cornering James while I was over at the Swindon show.

Both massive assets to our team and two men we know we can rely on.

Team Tough Love Boxing — Gloved & Bare-Knuckle Fight Team. 🥊🤛

Respect to both warriors. ❤️🥊

🥊 WHAT A WEEKEND OF BOXING FOR TOUGH LOVE BOXING! 🥊

Seven fighters out across two shows — and what a weekend it was for the Tough Love family!

First up, we headed to the Tank Promotions show in Salisbury, with Swanny Davis and the Claridge boys — Billy, Jamie and big Aiddy — representing the gym.

And check this out… young Billy Claridge, our 15-year-old prodigy, actually played a game of football in the afternoon before boxing! 😂🥊

Billy had a very tough, game opponent and was involved in a real three-round war. But in true Claridge style, he dug deep, showed tremendous heart and got the nod from the judges. Another fantastic learning experience for this young man. Keep your eyes on Billy — this kid has a very bright future!

Next up was Swanny Davis, one of our heavyweight warriors.

Now Swanny was seriously up against it, taking on Matt Coldwell, the number one contender for the Tank Promotions heavyweight strap. Let's be honest — not many people gave Swanny much of a sniff.

But we had faith in our man. 👊

The opening round was a tough one. Coldwell boxed well, using a stiff jab and good movement to take the first.

But in the second, Swanny dug deep.

He started finding his range, making a dent in Matt's defence, pushing him back onto the ropes and landing some serious shots.

Swanny takes the second!

Was the momentum starting to shift?

An exhausted Davis sat on the stool, and after some firm corner work from coaches Tony Smith and Callum Gadd, Swanny went back out for the third with the bit firmly between his teeth.

The man from Tough Love gave absolutely everything he had.

In a closely contested third round, Swanny had Coldwell staggered and in real trouble just before the final bell.

Unfortunately, as can happen in boxing, the judges saw it differently and awarded the bout to Matt.

But from where we were standing, Swanny boxed the best we've ever seen him box.

He showed heart, determination, composure and a willingness to take on one of the toughest challenges in the division.

And the crazy thing is…

Swanny is boxing AGAIN this weekend! 😂🥊

That's what you get with a real fighting man.

No excuses. No hiding. Just back in the gym and ready for the next one.

Keep your eyes peeled for Swanny's next bout.

Tough Love Boxing — we fight together, we lose together, we learn together and we come back stronger. 🥊❤️

🥊 THREE CLARIDGE BROTHERS. THREE WINS. 🥊

Next up were the senior Claridge boys — and what a night it was for the family!

First into the ring was Jamie Claridge, our reigning cruiserweight champion, defending his belt against the tough and durable Mateo Melecki over five rounds.

The slick southpaw Jamie started fast, establishing his jab immediately and letting those lightning-fast combinations go. Mateo was forced to cover up for much of the opening round as Jamie picked his shots and controlled the action.

The second round continued in much the same vein, with Jamie landing clean shot after clean shot.

Knowing just how tough Mateo is — possibly too tough for his own good! — promoter Rich Loveday, with the fighter's health firmly at heart, made the decision to call a halt to the contest and instructed the referee to stop the bout.

A fantastic performance from Jamie — an absolute clinic of boxing skills. 👏🥊

Then came his brother…

Our big heavyweight champion, Aiden Claridge.

Aiden was facing a serious opponent in Dean Perkins, who came into the bout with an impressive 15–1 record.

Perkins had also been having a bit of fun trolling Aiden on social media in the build-up to the fight…

Probably not the wisest move! 😂

A highly motivated champion climbed through those ropes that night.

From the opening bell, a few of Aiden's trademark fast jabs began finding their home.

Then…

💥 CRACK!

A devastating right hand sent Perkins crashing to the canvas.

He beat the count at eight, but Aiden was straight back on the attack.

Then came another of Aiden's signature moves — a slick weave underneath, followed by a devastating liver shot.

Perkins hit the canvas again.

This time, the man from Birmingham couldn't beat the count.

BOUT WAVED OFF!

💥🥊 AIDEN CLARIDGE WINS BY KO! 🥊💥

And just like that…

Three Claridge brothers. Three fights. THREE WINS.

What a weekend for the Claridge family — and what a weekend for Tough Love Boxing! ❤️🥊

🥊🔥 SOME FIGHTS JUST HAVE TO HAPPEN… AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM! 🔥🥊

CALLUM GADD 🆚 BEN HEAP

This one promises to be an absolute BARNSTORMER! 💥

Two aggressive, forward-moving fighters with one thing in common — neither man likes taking a backward step! This has all the ingredients of an all-action war, and we honestly can't see this one going to the final bell! 👀🔥

Ben Heap trains out of Spartans Gym, under the watchful eye of top coach and fighter Grant Mallinson. Ben has established himself as one of the best light-heavyweights on the West Country circuit, and he'll be coming to prove exactly why.

But everyone knows what Gadd brings to the ring…

🥊 Relentless forward pressure
💥 Devastating combinations
🔥 Fight-finishing body shots

When Callum Gadd turns up, you know you're in for a fight!

CALLUM GADD vs BEN HEAP — this is one fight fight fans absolutely DO NOT WANT TO MISS!

Most of my time as a coach is spent holding pads for the fighters, and honestly, that’s my passion. At my age, there’s nothing I enjoy more than sharpening the tools of people who are actively competing in the ring, or those simply trying to learn the art of boxing. 🥊

But my real passion — the absolute highlight of my evening — is putting on a set of gloves, getting my mouthguard in and getting as many rounds of sparring as I possibly can!

I know my time for sparring is limited, so I’m embracing every single round I get to box.

The younger lads take it a little easier on me these days, and I’m absolutely fine with that 😂. But there’s no better feeling than finishing a hard session after getting plenty of rounds in.

I never feel as alive as I do after a night of boxing at Tough Love Boxing.

Thanks to the whole team. 🥊❤️

Long may it continue.

NEXT GEN 🥊🥊

Tough Love junior boxers Reggie and Blake getting some controlled sparring in, helping each other develop, learn and improve in a safe and supportive environment.

This is what Tough Love Boxing is all about. Giving young people a positive outlet, building confidence, discipline and respect, and getting them away from the games consoles and street corners and into a boxing or martial arts gym. 🥊

Well done lads — keep working, keep learning and keep pushing yourselves.

Keep your eyes peeled for these two in the future… 👀🥊

🥊 ROAD WARRIOR SWANNY DAVIS IN ACTION! 🔥

Swanny is putting in the graft, and it’s showing! 💪

The Tough Love boxer was back on the road in Plymouth, getting valuable rounds under his belt and continuing to sharpen his game. Keep your eyes on this man 👀 — he has something you simply can’t teach.

Swanny is training like a beast at the moment, pushing himself every session and levelling up with every round. The hard work is starting to speak for itself. 🔥

And my favourite picture here? Coach Clive Gadd overseeing the action, bringing years of knowledge, experience and that watchful coaching eye. 🥊

The journey continues. Watch this space… Swanny is coming. 👊🔥
