Project Planters-Part 3

This morning, bright and early we planted up the 5th and last stone planter on Knockbreck Road.

Thanks again to Derek at Newmills Plant Centre, Tomich.

The plants in this bed were specifically chosen with pollinators in mind....Now all we need is some sunshine for the bees and butterflies (and us too😎😎)

Project Planters-Part 2

Today a wee team of 3 helpers planted up 2 more of the Knockbreck Road Stone Planters.

A Big Thank You to all the helpers tonight for coming out and making the evening go so smoothly with the hanging baskets for the town.

Extra Thanks for the local Fire Brigade, Bruce Begg for his van and trailer and Tarlogie Joinery for their van ( Darren and Zander) given up their time to help us out.

You might notice that the towers beside the rose garden and bottom of greenies street are missing, these will go up as soon as we get a cherry picker and driver probably in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime I hope you all enjoy the wonderful displays around the town.

Project Planters

Project Planters

We made a start today between showers on one of the beds at Knockbreak Road.

A mixture of hardy shrubs so in a few years time will be larger displays and easier to look after.

We bought all these healthy shrubs and plants from Newmills Plant Centre at Tomich. Very friendly and helpful.

Keep your eyes open as we plant up another one next week 🤗

Project Knockbreck Planters

Hopefully you will have seen the changes we have started to make at the stone planters at Knockbreck road.

This year Tain Task Force will be focusing on improving these beds to give the residents and visitors to Tain some colour as they enter or leave the town. So watch this space as we start to plant them up with new colourful displays.

A huge Thank You goes to Ronnie D Fraser, who removed all the old soil and plants and replenished with approx 14 tonne of top soil. Ronnie done this free of charge as he knew it was for the good of Tain and a big improvement.

So on behalf of all at Tain Task Force… Thank You Ronnie.

Tain Task Force are holding our pre season AGM all are welcome to attend.
It is to be held at Cafe11 on Market Street tomorrow (Tuesday 14th April ) starts at 6:30pm.
We are looking for more volunteers so if able please share and come along tomorrow. Trisha 🪴

Last night we entered our water buggy into the Christmas tractor light parade for some last minute fun.

Grant and Bruce done a great job on the decoration, perhaps next year it will need more lights 😂

The Tain Gala Association organised this event and it certainly brought alot of fun to the community 🤗 🎄

Christmas is nearly upon us so all of us from Task Force we wish you all a very Happy Christmas 🎄🥰

Luckily we managed to get the spring bulbs and winter bedding planting done before the snow arrived. Thanks to the volunteers that came along and helped us plant up so quickly 🤗
