We cannot believe that this time last week we were wrapping up the 10th Dornoch Whisky Festival! Wow. 🤩
We have so many people to thank, so many people that make this wee festival such a brilliant event to put on and that we hope you all enjoyed.
As most of you know, we’re an independent whisky festival that is supported by the venues in Dornoch and we could not put this festival on without them and the events they put together. We welcomed back some fan favourites and introduced some brand new events which all went down a treat and it’s thanks to all their hard work that this year was such a success, so thank you to The Carnegie Whisky Cellars, Dornoch Castle Hotel, Dornoch Distillery, Dornoch Station, The Eagle Dornoch, Links House at Royal Dornoch and the Royal Dornoch Golf Club for making this 10th year so special.
This year’s festival saw over 30 events and more than 30 exhibitors, making it our biggest celebration yet. Our Grand Tasting was our busiest so far and we cannot believe the support we received from you all for attending. We were so excited and humbled to see so many familiar names and faces return from all over the country and world and to welcome so many new people to the Dornoch Whisky Festival family – we hope you all had a wonderful time and got a chance to sample in some of the best drams we’ve had yet.
Our heartfelt thanks to all the exhibitors for making the journey and celebrating with us, without you, our Grand Tasting wouldn’t have had the amazing buzz it did, so thank you to: Ardnamurchan Distillery, Badachro Distillery, The Cabrach Distillery, Clynelish, The Glasgow Distillery Co., Glen Garioch Single Malt Whisky, GlenWyvis Distillery, Gordon & MacPhail Whisky, Isle of Raasay Distillery, 嘉之助蒸溜所 Kanosuke Distillery, Kilninian Drinks, Lady of the Glen, North Point Distillery, Robertsons of Pitlochry, Roslin Distillers Ltd, Nc'nean Distillery, SPEY Whisky, Wm Cadenhead Ltd, Wolfburn Whisky & White Peak Distillery - we’d love to tag you all, but FB says it’s too many! Clearly, it doesn’t realise just how thankful we are to you all.
A massive thank you again to the Thompson Bros for the phenomenal bottle of Glen Scotia 2014 that they procured and bottled for us – we’re still in awe at that finish. There are still a few bottles available, so if you missed out at the weekend, keep an eye out for details soon.
On top of that, there are so many more people that we need to thank – the people behind the scenes, the volunteers on the day, our wonderful suppliers and of course our photographer Eoghan Smith Photography, whose photos you’ll be seeing more of over the coming months. We’ve got to hold on to that Dornoch Whisky Festival high somehow!
If we named everyone, we would no doubt forget someone and quite frankly we can’t risk that because every single person involved in this festival is just as important as the rest and we could not do it without them.
For now, we’ll just say thank you again – to everyone and for everything. We look forward to seeing you in 2026 for the 11th Dornoch Whisky Festival: 23rd – 25th October.
