๐—ข๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ are the newest eight-piece neo-soul group to emerge from the London jazz scene. Having met at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, they have been shaped by their shared love of the jazz tradition, and yet bring their most valuable contributions to the music through individual influences and unique musical backgrounds!

Please note, both bands have been booked to appear again at the 2027 festival!

๐Ÿ”ข Yorkshire based quartet Vibe-ology pays tribute to jazz musicians and composers Milt Jackson, Wes Montgomery, Big John Patton, Grant Green, Bobby Hutcherson, Kenny Burrell, Jimmy Smith and many more.

๐ŸŽน Using the seldom seen combination of Hammond organ and vibes (and featuring Scarborough Jazz regulars ๐‰๐จ๐ก๐ง ๐’๐ž๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž and ๐€๐ฅ ๐Œ๐จ๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ง on vibes and guitar respectively), the music of the band covers a wide range, from jazz, Latin and Blues to funk and soul!

๐ŸŽถBrigitte will be joined by ๐€๐ฅ๐š๐ง ๐๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ฌ and ๐๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐†๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ง. Iconic figure and sax player Alan, multiple BBC Jazz Musician of the Year, and the fluent and melodic jazz pianist Barry combine their different styles and musical experience to create 'Tea for Three!'

Festival favourite Alan brings project ๐€๐ฅ๐š๐ง ๐๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ฌ + ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ to this years festival!

๐ŸŽท Alan Barnes +11 is a project originally put together to celebrate Alanโ€™s 50th birthday in 2009. Alan commissioned his favourite arranger, Mark Nightingale, to write 13 charts for 12 piece big band of tunes written in 1959, the year Alan was born.

๐ŸŽต Since then the scope of the repertoire has expanded and this Scarborough performance will include several new charts. Alan will be featured throughout on alto and baritone saxes, clarinet and bass clarinet but with plenty of solos from the other musicians as well!

๐ŸŽบThis exciting new project introduces original material and a repertoire with emphasis on the โ€˜pocketโ€™ of groove and freedom of improvisation. Bryan introduces the project as โ€œA chance to play some original tunes and ideas coming to it from a slightly different angle than I normally wouldโ€!

๐ŸŽถThe IGU is an original project full of improvisation, hip grooves, beautiful melodies, unique musicianship, interplay and virtuosity, with emphasis on the 'pocket' of groove and freedom of improvisation.
