Hi everyone! 🐾

Some of you already know me, but I’m Brooke and I’ll be back again this year doing the Corgi Grooming Talks at Corgi Fest Sunday the 6th of September ! βœ‚οΈπŸ›

I’d love to know if there’s anything specific you’d like me to cover this year, whether it’s brushing tips, dealing with shedding, nail trimming, bath time struggles, or anything else corgi-related! Feel free to comment below or send me a private message.

The goal is to help make grooming your corgi at home feel easier, less stressful, and maybe even a little fun for both you and your fluffy potato πŸΆπŸ’›

Can’t wait to see you all there!

πŸ“πŸΎ πŸ‘€ OK here they are !!

Our Site Plan and Timetable for Corgi Fest UK 2026 !!

🏑 Same venue as last year, with some slight tweaks based on your feedback.

There might have to be some last minute adjustments, mainly around where we're at with our entries in the PAYWCA Open Show, which we won't know until close of entries at midnight on 28th August. But confirmation of final plans will be published in the week leading up to the big day and they'll both be printed off and displayed on the day πŸ‘

πŸ“ Hope you like what we've got planned and we'll look forward to welcoming you and your floofy friends on the day 🦊🐺😁

🐾 OUR NOMINATED CHARITY 2026 🐾

IVDD Research Project
Canine Genetics Centre
University of Cambridge
Dept. of Veterinary Medicine

Although rare, IVDD can sadly affect both our beloved breeds so this Project is an extremely worthwhile cause for us all to give our support to.

The main way we can all do this is to buy raffle tickets again for our delicious luxury Summer Picnic hamper. Last year we raised an amazing Β£546.00 for Corgi Rescue so let's see if we can go even better this year !

Details on how to purchase these raffle tickets will be published at a later date, but the Just Giving page is now live and can receive any cash donations anyone would generously like to make.

Happy fundraising and many thanks

Get ready for a pawsome talk at CorgiFest UK 2026! 🐾

We’re delighted to introduce our breed talker, Gordon MacLellan from the pupscan project, who’ll be tackling the important topic of hip dysplasia in dogs.

From genetics and breeding to nutrition, husbandry, and exercise, Gordon will share expert tips to help keep our corgis happy, healthy, and full of zoomies!

This is one talk you won’t want to miss! 🌟 My name is Gordon MacLellan and I worked in the NHS for 42 years.

I was a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon In Romford, Essex and now live in Cumbria with my wife Pamela, whose academic background is in Law and Psychology, and our 10 Belgian Shepherds.

After graduating as a Doctor from St George's Hospital in London in 1969 I was awarded my Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1974. My specialist Orthopaedic training was at Northwick Park Hospital and Clinical Research Centre, London, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston USA and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Institute of Orthopaedics, London.

I was appointed Consultant in 1984 and Paediatric Orthopaedic surgery was a large part of my responsibility. I introduced ultrasound hip scanning of infant hips to detect hip dysplasia in Romford in 1985. This allowed early brace treatment to be given and led to normal hip joint development. As a result large numbers of surgical operations were avoided.

On my retirement from clinical work Pamela and I set up The Pupscan Research Project to transfer knowledge gained from human and other animal species of hip disorders over the previous 40 years to dog breeders.

The Pupscan Project aimed to establish the incidence of hip dysplasia in puppies before 8 weeks of age using the same ultrasound scanning as in human babies. From this baseline the Project aimed to identify the causes of hip dysplasia as has been successfully achieved in children. Pam and I have now scanned more than 6000 hips in over 70 breeds, the largest such study in the world.

We’ve got another exciting Corgi introduction coming up… meet Reinet and Biscuit 😁🐾

Two sweet pups, one very cute moment you won’t want to miss!

πŸ‘‰ Join us this Sunday, 6 September for some wagging tails, happy smiles and plenty of Corgi fun. 🐢✨ Bio Below

Hi!
I am Reinet and this is my corgi Biscuit! This year we will be returning to Corgifest for an agility demo and to help you and your dogs to have a go at agility yourself!

I absolutely loved last year how Corgifest shows how versatile our wonderful corgis are, especially as I think the general public still sees them as loafs of bread on legs who are mainly good at being cute and funny. Don’t get me wrong, they are cute and funny but also so much more!

So, why agility? First and foremost, because we both really enjoy it! It’s a great combination of using your body and brains at the same time, or at least trying to. It never gets old to see your dog manage the obstacles, but as we have progressed in our training I am realising more and more that the obstacles become just a given and what really matters is the partnership between you and your dog. The real challenge is to get your dog around a course that you have seen, but they have not, in the most efficient and speedy way, without faults. They need to trust that you give them the right instructions whilst you need to trust them to follow the instructions. Throw in some corgi sass and you can imagine that results can vary….
