Race to the Jungle x Sunova Surfboards
We're incredibly excited to announce our collaboration between Race To The Jungle 2026 and Sunova SUP for our inaugural Thailand event taking place on 12th–13th December 2026 in Kanchanaburi, Thailand.
From the very beginning, we wanted Race 2 the Jungle to feel different. Not just another race in another location, but a genuine experience that blends adventure, travel, community, atmosphere, and paddling into something unforgettable.
When we started speaking with the team at Sunova, the partnership immediately felt right.
What we love about Sunova is how genuine the brand feels. Everything about them reflects craftsmanship, innovation, sustainability, and a real connection to the water. Their philosophy around creating “the right board for the right rider” aligns so naturally with what we’re building with Race 2 the Jungle.
There’s soul in what they do.
Their boards are handcrafted in Thailand, and that local connection makes this collaboration even more special. Race 2 the Jungle is all about immersing people into the experience of Thailand, the rivers, the jungle, the culture, the people, the food, the atmosphere and working with a Thailand-based brand that genuinely lives and breathes board culture feels incredibly important to us.
One of the most exciting parts of this collaboration is that paddlers will have access to a range of Sunova boards during the event, with different shapes and dimensions available depending on paddling style, confidence, and race goals.
Whether paddlers are looking for speed, stability, glide, technical handling, or simply a comfortable board to experience the adventure, we want people to have access to equipment that helps them enjoy the event properly.
For many paddlers, travelling internationally with boards can feel like the biggest barrier to entering overseas races. We really wanted to help remove that stress.
One of the standout features of Race 2 the Jungle is actually how accessible it is.
You can fly into Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), jump in a transfer, taxi, train, or bus, and within around 1.5–2 hours be in Kanchanaburi surrounded by jungle mountains and rivers.
We’ve worked hard to make the entire experience seamless.
Accommodation packages, race logistics, transfers, safety cover, local support, hospitality, guest packages, and event organisation are all built into the weekend, meaning people can realistically come out and do this as an unforgettable long weekend adventure with minimal hassle.
But equally, Thailand deserves more time.
Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai region are absolutely stunning. Waterfalls, jungle rivers, floating cafés, mountains, incredible food, massages after paddling, beautiful hotels it’s the kind of place where you instantly slow down and settle into the rhythm of it.
And beyond that, Thailand offers so much more.
Whether it’s heading north to Chiang Mai for mountains, culture, and adventure, returning to Bangkok to explore the energy of the capital, or continuing south to the beaches and islands for pure relaxation, Thailand is a country that rewards anyone who chooses to stay longer and explore.
The event itself is going to be something really special.
Saturday’s 12km Technical Race at Lake View is fast, tropical, and framed by jungle covered mountains, while Sunday’s 38km downriver race flows through the River Kwai before finishing beneath the iconic Bridge over the River Kwai honestly one of the most spectacular finish lines we’ve ever created.
Hosted by the R2TC Crew SUP Hire Thailand Co., Ltd. and SUP Fitness: Wellbeing & Adventure
R2TJ blends racing, exploration, hospitality, atmosphere, and adventure into a tropical paddle experience unlike anything else on the calendar.
And it’s already building momentum.
With just 100 places available for the inaugural year, demand is already building fast and early places are being taken.
But more than anything, we want people to leave Thailand feeling like they experienced something bigger than a race.
That’s what Race 2 the Jungle is really about.
