Until the horn sounds, the cheers erupt beneath the suspension bridge and 300+ paddlers charge their way downstream towards Newark Castle
And believe us, we've got LOTS to get excited about for year four

We've already got our board categories, celebrating different board types across the fleet. And for 2027, we're adding new age categories too!

🏰 SATURDAY: THE CASTLE TAKES OVER
Crossing the finish line is only the beginning!
Our event village at Newark Castle is where the festival atmosphere really kicks in. Think massage, sauna, cold plunge, food, recovery, a bar, music, medals, celebrations and catching up with your paddling crew.
It's where you collect your hard-earned medal, pick up your Pair of Castles, Triple Castle or Four of a Kind Castle achievements, swap stories from the river and celebrate with the paddlers who've shared the journey.
Whether you're reliving a sprint finish, celebrating a podium, laughing about the moments that didn't quite go to plan or simply soaking up the atmosphere, this is what Race 2 the Castle is all about.
Then, as evening arrives, we head to the beautiful Newark Town Hall for our legendary after-party and awards.
And for year four? We've got some exciting new additions planned. We're not giving everything away just yet, but you'll want to be there! 👀
🧘 SUNDAY: THE HANGOVER DAY
Because we're not quite ready to call it a weekend!
Join us for some well-deserved recovery, including yoga and a board and equipment demo day. And if your body needs a little extra TLC after Saturday's efforts, there'll be opportunities to enjoy the sauna and cold plunge too.
A chance to stretch out, try something new, talk boards, catch up with friends and ease yourself back into the real world.
And there may be a little something extra on the recovery front too. We'll let you in on that secret soon!
