🎹 Rest in Peace, Tom Hensley 💙
It’s been a very sad week in the music industry, with the passing of yet another legend.
We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Tom Hensley on Sunday.
We would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to Tom’s family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
For around 40 years, Tom was much more than Neil Diamond’s pianist and keyboard player—he was an integral part of the sound that accompanied one of the world’s greatest singer-songwriters. His incredible musicianship, arrangements and unwavering presence on stage helped create the unforgettable live performances that millions of Neil Diamond fans have treasured over the decades.
Tom wasn’t only a member of Neil’s band. He was also one of the music industry’s most respected session musicians, performing on countless classic recordings.
Among other artists hits featuring his piano playing were “Rich Girl” by Hall & Oates, “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie & Diana Ross, “Half-Breed” by Cher, and “Don’t Give Up on Us” by David Soul. What an incredible musical legacy.
Although he was rarely in the spotlight, Tom’s talent touched millions of people around the world.
Thank you, Tom, for your extraordinary talent, your dedication, and for helping create the soundtrack to so many lives.
