Led by Italian-American clarinettist and saxophonist Giacomo Smith and featuring some of London’s finest jazz musicians, this festive big band celebration brings together seasonal favourites, Ellington rarities and original compositions for an evening full of swing, warmth and Christmas cheer.

Pat Metheny returns to the Barbican Centre for a weekend takeover, with three shows across Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July.

Experience the latest evolution of his celebrated SIDE-EYE III+ project, now in its third iteration, featuring a new line-up of young virtuosos. Showcasing Metheny’s enduring commitment to mentoring the next generation of jazz innovators, the evening promises an exploration of new sonic territories through a rich, expansive ensemble sound.

Joining Pat is Chris Fishman (piano and keyboards), Jermaine Paul (bass), Joe Dyson (drums) and Leonard Patton (percussion/vocals).

Calling all Thamesmead singers! ✨🎤

Want to perform live at Thamesmead Festival 2026 alongside one of the UK's most celebrated soul collectives?

🥳 Natalie Williams’ Soul Family will headline the Park Stage on Saturday 8 August - and a small group of local singers will have the chance to join them on stage!

Led by MOBO-nominated vocalist Natalie Williams, Soul Family is renowned for its legendary residency at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and features musicians who have worked with Amy Winehouse, Stormzy, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Girls Aloud and Liam Gallagher.

Joining the line-up will be powerhouse vocalists Frida Touray, Tony Momrelle and AUX.

Through Thamesmead’s Got Soul, talented local singers can take part in workshops leading up to a once-in-a-lifetime festival performance.

Natalie says: "We’re not worried about perfect scales or formal technique. We want energy, rhythm and soulful voices!"
