Tom Campbell Trio - Live at Largs Folk Nights
Join us for the final Largs Folk Nights concert of the season on Sunday 26 April, featuring the outstanding Tom Campbell Trio.
Formed in 2018, the trio brings together Tom Campbell (flute), Callum Convoy (bodhrán), and Gillie O’Flaherty (guitar). Their music blends Scottish and Irish traditional influences with contemporary ideas, combining original compositions with traditional tunes to create a fresh and exciting sound.
The trio were finalists at the BBC Folk Awards 2019 and winners of the 2021 Battle of the Folk Bands, and are known for their energetic performances and inventive arrangements.
Tom Campbell, originally from the Isle of Lismore, developed his musicianship at Plockton Music School and Lews Castle College, and his compositions have been recorded by artists including Kevin Meehan and 3 on the Bund.
Expect an afternoon of brilliant musicianship, driving tunes, and top-class live folk music as we close this season of Largs Folk Nights before returning in the autumn.
