Hugglets Meet thousands of teddy bears and artists from all over the world in London and Birmingham. Many bears are small, limited editions or one-off creations.

Hugglets was formed in 1985 to create traditional teddy bears and toys designed both for children and for a growing number of adult collectors. In 1987, after a two-year foray into teddy bear making, Hugglets published the first edition of the Teddy Bear Guide, which brought together the details of specialist manufacturers, teddy bear retailers and other related businesses. The Guide was an immediate success and grew rapidly along with the market and a new edition has since been published every year at the end of October – coinciding with Teddy Roosevelt’s birthday. In 1989, Hugglets organised the first British Teddy Bear Festival in London, which drew together over two thousand collectors and businesses. The event proved so popular that Hugglets Teddy Bear Festivals have been staged annually ever since. There are currently two events – the Winter BearFest in February and the Teddies Festival in September – both held in London at Kensington Town Hall. The one-day Hugglets Festivals attract around 1,000 eager teddy bear enthusiasts and are an inspiration for beginners as well as for established bear collectors from all around the world. There are some 80 stands at each event selling both new and antique bears. Many of the exhibitors are individual bear makers (known as bear artists) who make bears in their own unique designs and styles. There are always exhibitors from overseas – as far away as Australia, Canada, Japan, South Africa, the USA, and Europe. As many as 10,000 bears and related products are on sale. Prices range from just a few pounds to over £1000. .

Milne and a century of Winnie-the-Pooh. 🍯 Our antiques expert Daniel Hentschel puts two rare treasures under the magnifying glass: Steiff’s Teddy Baby nightdress case of 1930, a zipped rarity at the very top of many collectors’ wish lists, and Bing’s somersaulting Acro bear of 1909, whose acrobatics landed it in a legal tussle with Steiff. 🤸 You’ll also get a first glimpse of BLYTHE & friends, our brand-new addition to the Winter BearFest, plus the who’s who of the teddy bear world: artists, makers, shops, antique dealers and suppliers from the UK and around the globe. 🧸

Introducing Hugglets BLYTHE & friends – a brand-new event opening alongside the Hugglets Winter BearFest on 28 February 2027. For the very first time, an entire additional floor at Kensington Town Hall will be dedicated to the Blythe community. 💫

Do you customise Blythe dolls, design dreamy outfits or create beautiful accessories? Then this is your stage! ✨ A carefully selected group of exhibitors will present dolls, outfits, accessories and artistic creations to visitors who truly value craftsmanship, creativity and character. With one ticket covering both floors, your work will be discovered by Blythe fans and teddy bear collectors alike – two worlds united by a love of handmade personality. 🧸💕

And there is so much more to look forward to: a dedicated Workshop Room with talks and hands-on sessions, including contributions from Ayin Gurling, plus a Community Room hosted by UFDC’s Blythe & Friends Community Club, where collectors, makers and enthusiasts can meet, swap ideas and spend time together. 🎨

🧸 Please look after this bear – 68 years on 🧸

On 13 October 1958, a small bear from darkest Peru stepped onto the pages of A Bear Called Paddington. And straight into the hearts of readers around the world. 💛

His story began with a label round his neck, a well-travelled suitcase and a hopeful wait at Paddington Station, where the Brown family found him and gave him both a name and a home. Sent to London by his Aunt Lucy, who had moved into the Home for Retired Bears in Lima, he arrived with impeccable manners, a hard stare for special occasions and an emergency marmalade sandwich tucked safely under his hat. 🍊

Behind it all was Michael Bond, who spotted a lonely little bear on a London shop shelf on Christmas Eve 1956 and took him home as a present for his wife. That one small bear sparked a story that has since travelled the world in countless languages. On the page, on screen and on stage. 📚✨

Strictly speaking, Paddington has two birthdays, one in summer and one in winter, just like the monarch. But today belongs to the day he first met his readers. 🎂

Here’s to kindness, good manners, marmalade and every bear who has ever found a loving home. 🧸💛

What a day! On Sunday, 20 September 2026, the Hugglets TEDDIES Festival opened its doors at the NEC Birmingham for the very first time – and together, you made it a premiere to remember. 🧸✨

From the very first minute, the hall was buzzing: bear makers, artists, suppliers and antique dealers from the UK and around the world, long-standing collectors and brand-new faces, joyful reunions and wonderful first encounters. Take a look back at the smiles, the stands and the many bears who found their forever homes on the day. 💛

A heartfelt thank you to every exhibitor, every visitor and every Club Member who joined us in Birmingham – and the warmest of welcomes to everyone who discovered Hugglets for the first time. 🏡🧸
