⭐ NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS WEEK⭐

With it being National Volunteers week, we'd like to highlight our own amazing volunteers, who over the years have made Wye Float the incredible event it is today!

Wye float is made up of several volunteers who give up their time to make our event a success and raise money for so many local wonderful charities and organisations, including:

📖 The Event Team- Who volunteer all year round to ensure that we can deliver an event that is bigger and better every year!
🛶 The River Rescue Team- Who on the big day, make sure everyone who takes part in our river float is safe and has fun!
⛺ Event Area Volunteers- Who help keep our main event and festival area running smoothly!
🚗 Herefordshire 4x4 Response Group- Who help us manage the road closures to ensure everyone is kept safe and assisting us at our finish point!
⭐ 1st Hereford Scout Group- For providing refreshments and support at our finish point for all taking part in the float!
💜 George’s Fund- Our wonderful chosen charity for this year's event! A group of volunteers from the charity will be joining us on the day to support the event.

So to all our volunteers past, present and those joining us this year, thank you so much! We could not have grown our event and been able to support so many local charities without your help and support!

Hot weather doesn’t mean safe water. 🌊

Cold water shock can happen in seconds, even on the warmest days. If you’re swimming outdoors, take care, know the risks, and never swim alone.

🚨 VOLUNTEERS WANTED 🚨

Wye Float are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team for this year’s event on Saturday 8th August 2026 at Hereford Rugby Club! 🎶🌊☀️

We’re looking for friendly, reliable people to help with:

✅ Stewarding & Marshalling
✅ Car Parking
✅ River Safety
✅ Ticket Sales & Merchandise
✅ Bus Stewarding
✅ Media Team
✅ Event Setup & Pack-down

Whether you can help for one shift or the whole weekend, we’d love to hear from you!

💥 Volunteer perks include:

1. Free camping (subject to volunteer hours).
2. Food vouchers
3. Free T-shirt
4. Behind-the-scenes festival experience
5. Meeting an amazing team and making new friends
6. Supporting a fantastic local event and helping us raise money for George’s Fund

Example of the shifts available:

🕣 Morning: 08:00 – 13:00
🕐 Afternoon: 13:00 – 18:00
🕕 Evening: 18:00 – 23:00

No previous experience is necessary for most roles - just a positive attitude and willingness to help.
