We're really sorry to say that we had to cancel our second-hand market for this Saturday, 16th May. The event and crafting activity will no longer be going ahead this month and will be rescheduled to a later point. We're sorry to miss you all this weekend! 😪 We'll be back with our next public event "Sew You Can!" on Sunday 31st May.

🌱🌸 Finally! We will reopen our doors on Saturday 11th April at 11am - 3pm with our second-hand market Off The Rails (free to attend) 🛍️ In parallel, we will run a free drop-in planting session from 12-2pm. Come along to help us with our planters on site or sow some seeds to grow at home. 😊

Note: For the planting, please dress warm enough as our venue is not insulated and if the weather is good, planting will happen outside. Please also wear clothes that are allowed to get a bit covered in soil.

🪡 We are looking forward to our free sewing taster session 'Sew You Can!' on Sunday 28th September. Drop in anytime between 11am - 2pm.
You can bring your own clothing that need some repairing and learn how to fix things yourself, or you can practice on some of our fabrics. Our sewing tutor Nicki (they/them) will teach you some basic sewing skills in a fun and relaxed environment. Whether you're a seasoned sewist or completely new to it, all skill levels are welcome to join 🧵

In this skill-sharing session, we will focus on:
- taking up hems
- how to best sew on a button
- patching up holes
- mending ripped seams

Teas, coffees & cakes available to purchase.
We recommend to dress in layers as it can get a bit chilly in our space at this time of year. We will also have blankets available for extra cozyness.

About Nicki:
Nicki (they/them) is a costume maker who has recently made Springburn their home, after moving to Scotland in 2022. They have worked in costume for theatre for over 10 years, as well as making embroidery and textile art collected by people all over the world.
Originally from Kent, they were taught how to sew as a child by their mum and nan, and have continued teaching themselves new sewing skills ever since.
Nicki loves all types of sewing, and is especially excited about fixing, reusing and recycling things.

Join us for a morning meet-up this Saturday, 30th August at Springburn Auditorium for our Springburn Park Appreciation Day.

At 10:30am, we will start with a morning walk through the park, guided by the RSPB Glasgow, listening for birds. Let's see how many birds we can identify and spot!

Starting at noon (12:00) at Springburn Auditorium, you are welcome to join us for a community litter-pick to help clean up the park. Every piece counts, helping to make nature a cleaner and safer space for animals and humans alike.
For every filled bag of litter, we will treat you to one of our selected drinks at Springburn Auditorium (maximum of 2 free refreshments per person).

Our pop-up cafe at Springburn Auditorium will be open with hot and cold drinks, home-baked cakes and crisps from 10:30 - 13:00 for anyone to come by and have seat, chat, or take-away as you go.

We had a nice calm Saturday painting stones and crafting paper-mache sea creatures. Some turned out to morph into magical fairytale creatures, or perhaps these might be part of the vastly undiscovered ocean life of the deep sea? 🤭

Thank you Amelia for facilitating the process of the sea creature crafting workshop.

Our next event is on Saturday 30th August, when we'll meet at Springburn Auditorium at 10:30am to go on a walk through the park to listen for birds.
