What a dreich day for Leg 32 of Trek500. Fortunate to have Scott Macbeth and Macbeth Joinery as today’s sponsor - ready 🤔 and willing 🤪 to answer a late night call out, should the bothy need running repairs after the wind and rain of the day.

The day started out dry but then deteriorated and, by the time they had covered the 16.25 miles, the guys were soaked through all three layers of clothes!! Imagine their relief when the bothy came into sight and there was smoke coming out the chimney…. a nice young couple, with their two spaniels, Pickle and Fin, had the fire going and, strangely enough, were happy to see the two very wet Scotsmen arrive to join them for the night. 🔥🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💤💤

Leg 32 - Kinlochewe to Shenavall Bothy. Despite all the preparation for a night in the hills … waxed trousers and boots, reproofed waterproofs, maps and supplies in dry bags, the weather is outwith anyone’s control and it can be unrelenting!! 🌧️🌧️

The three musketeers arrived safely this afternoon at Kinlochewe, having completed Stage 31 in record time!!

The Baron of Bognie, who kindly sponsored this Stage, may have incentivised the musketeers to move quickly with the threat of unpleasant repercussions if they failed to meet their deadline …. despite the boggy and wet conditions!
