The journey toward equality is not just about changing laws it's about changing hearts, minds, and the world we leave for future generations.

Every person deserves to live with dignity, love, and be celebrated for who they are, without fear.

The fight for LGBTQ+ equality is a fight for humanity, compassion, and justice.

It is a reminder that our differences make us stronger, and our shared humanity connects us all.

We cannot call ourselves a truly equal society while members of our community are still facing discrimination, prejudice, or barriers simply for being who they are.

Equality is not complete until everyone has the same rights, opportunities, and respect.

Here at Inclusion Failsworth we continue to stand together, raise our voices, and build a future where every LGBTQ+ person knows they are seen, valued, and loved. Because when we lift each other up, we all rise and until we are all equal, none of us are truly equal. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβœ¨β€οΈ

"Why isn't there a Straight Pride?"

Because Pride was never about being better than anyone else. It was born from a time when people were shamed, criminalised, excluded, and forced to hide who they were and who they loved.

It is still illegal in 65 countries to be gay with 12 countries using the death penalty as punishment

Straight people have never had to fight for the right to exist openly as straight. They have never been denied marriage, employment, housing, or basic dignity simply because of their s*xual orientation.

Pride is not a celebration of being LGBTQ+ it's a celebration of survival, resilience, visibility, and the progress made toward equality.

When you've always been represented, accepted, and included, recognition feels normal. Pride exists for those who had to fight for that recognition.

Pride isn't about elevating one group above another. It's about ensuring everyone can stand on equal

According to Office for National Statistics data, LGBTQ+ people in England and Wales are around 2.2 times more likely to die by su***de and 2.5 times more likely to self-harm than heteros*xual people.

Research with LGBTQ+ young people has also found that more than half had considered su***de in the previous year.

These figures are a reminder of the real impact that stigma, discrimination, and feeling unable to be yourself can have on mental health and wellbeing.

At Inclusion Failsworth, we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming space where everyone is accepted, valued, respected, and encouraged to be their authentic self. We believe that everyone deserves to belong, to be heard, and to thrive without fear of judgment.

A transgender person is someone whose gender identity (their internal sense of being a man, woman, both, neither, or somewhere in between) is different from the s*x they were assigned at birth.

Being transgender is not a new trend or a mental illness. Trans people have existed throughout history and across many cultures.

For many trans people, using the correct name and pronouns is an important way others can show respect.

Some trans people choose to medically transition, while others do not. Being transgender is not defined by medical treatment, appearance, or clothing.

Like everyone else, trans people want to live safely, be treated with dignity, and be accepted for who they are.

In the current political climate, many transgender people are facing increased scrutiny, hostility, and uncertainty. Regardless of political views, it's important to remember that these discussions affect real people, their families, and their everyday lives.

At Inclusion Failsworth, we stand with our trans siblings. We are proud allies and remain committed to creating a community where everyone is welcomed, respected, and valued for who they are.

You don't have to understand every aspect of someone's experience to treat them with kindness, dignity, and respect. β€οΈπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

This Pride Month, we remember the Stonewall Riots of June 1969 when LGBTQ+ people in New York City stood up against discrimination and police harassment. Their courage sparked a movement for equality and helped shape modern LGBTQ+ rights activism.

Pride is both a celebration and a reminder of the ongoing fight for dignity, visibility, and inclusion. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ
