’Twas the night before showtime, and all through the house,
Not a dancer was stirring, nor even a mouse.
The costumes were hanging, all ready to wear,
With capes, skirts and sparkle laid out with such care.
The dancers were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of spotlights danced round in their heads.
Their pumps were all packed and their bags by the door,
After months full of practice and “Once more!” “Once more!”
At Middleton Arena, the stage stood at rest,
Awaiting our dancers to give it their best.
The heroes were ready, the villains were too,
With a few wicked plans and a dance step or two!
There’d be Little group cuties with big smiles to share,
And Middle group dancers with hands in the air.
Our Big group would shine with their fabulous flair,
While Advanced brought the magic we knew would be there.
And Lisa and Kelly, with lists piled up high,
Were checking things twice as the evening slipped by.
“Have we packed all the costumes? The music? The poms?”
Then one final message went out to the mums!
Tomorrow brings butterflies, giggles and cheers,
A few happy sniffles and proud parent tears.
From the first little step to the very last bow,
We’re so proud of you all—and we hope you know how.
So sleep tight, our dancers; tomorrow’s your day,
Let your smiles and your sparkle lead you all the way.
We’ll be there in the wings as you step into light—
Happy show eve to all, and to all a good night! 💜
