We’re delighted to share that The Hanover Band will perform at Hemsted Park this November, in an evening of late Mozart on period instruments.

Ben Hoffnung, the Band’s Principal Timpanist, takes to the conductor’s rostrum to lead Mozart’s Requiem, with the Band and Chorus joined by the Benenden Chapel Choir. Sarah Thurlow, the Band’s Principal Clarinet, also performs the Clarinet Concerto on basset clarinet, the instrument Mozart wrote it for.

Mozart left the Requiem unfinished when he died in 1791, which gives it a particular weight in a room. Alongside the Concerto and the Divertimento in D, it makes for a lovely autumn programme.
