Come along to All Saints’ church on 18th June for a very special evening of music, food and camaraderie!
The friends of All Saints are delighted to present a musical soiree, led by local resident and professional musician Stephen Higgins, joined by some of his friends and colleagues. The past couple of years have been tough for all of us, and what better way to banish the Covid blues than to assemble together, share food, wine and company, and above all to SING together again? Stephen and his special guests will lead you through some much loved songs- ranging from Gilbert and Sullivan, music from the war period, popular classics and maybe even some Last Night of the Proms classics!
No previous singing experience is required- only a wish to join together as a community and help to fund raise to help preserve this beautiful church and its grounds for all of us to enjoy.
Tickets are just £10- to include delicious canapés, and there will be a licensed bar all evening serving wine and soft drinks.

MUSIC TO REMEMBER- November 7th

More exciting news, we will be joined by actors Maria Freedman and Adrian der Gregorian who have kindly agreed to be our readers for the event. Maria is a 7 time Olivier award nominee (3 times winner), she has recently directed 'High Society' at the Old Vic and might be known to you as Elaine Peacock in Eastenders. Her husband Adrian played the lead in 'Made in Dagenham' and recently appeared in BBC comedy W1A.

Thanks to everyone who has already booked tickets for the concert on November 7th, "Music to remember"

I am now in a position to announce the performers for the evening- I am beyond ecstatic to tell you that Gerald Finley will be singing for us this time. Gerald, for those of you who haven't come across him, is literally one of the best baritones in the world today. I have known him for many years, and have often tried to get him to sing with us at previous concerts, but he has up until now always been busy. His excuses were always marvellous, however...
'Sadly I'm not free as I'm doing Don Giovanni at the Met that night', 'Sorry- Salzburg festival then Vienna State Opera that week' etc etc
So you are definitely in for a treat!

Joining him will be the tenor Rupert Charlesworth- himself also in Vienna doing a show at the moment. He recently won the International Handel Festival, and is in great demand as both a recitalist and in operas around the world. He will be singing Vaughan Williams' beautiful 'On Wenlock Edge', amongst other pieces

Our third illustrious member of the team is Russian cellist Alexei Sarkissov. He has one of the most beautiful tones on the cello that I have ever heard, and is planning on offering us movements from the Elgar cello concerto, along with Bruch's Kol Nidrei and Rachmaninov's Vocalise.

Money raised from the evening will be split between much needed funds for All Saints Church, our ever generous hosts, and the charity 'WarChild'.
I am also delighted that the National Theatre have donated two tickets to their West End production of Warhorse, to be used as one of the raffle prizes for the event.
