📍Sallagh Braes

If you looked up towards the hills this Halloween weekend and spotted a curious gathering of women on the ancient hillside, you might have wondered what was going on… 🧙‍♀️🍂

A coven? A secret society? A gathering of the wild women?

Nope, just our Wander Women doing what they do best! Getting outdoors and exploring new places together, a kind of magic in itself! 🥾✨

🌿🌍 Young Volunteers of the Year: Daisy and Jack Robinson! 💚

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council In Bloom
Community Awards 👏

At just 7 and 9 years old, Daisy and Jack from Larne are already making a real difference in their community!

Spending time with their grandparents, they’ve been involved in environmental projects with Larne Renovation Generation from a young age. From litter picking after playtime in the park to sorting everything they collect for recycling when they get home, their care for nature shines through in everything they do.

Larne Renovation Generation 💚

A huge well done to Daisy and Jack! 👏 You’re proof that you’re never too young to make a difference. Keep up the fantastic work! 🌱♻️

🧟‍♂️ LOOKING FOR SLIME THIS HALLOWEEN? 🎃🍄

You don’t need to look far! 👀 Today, we discovered slime moulds, fascinating fungi and all sorts of creepy-crawly beasties in People’s Park, Ballymena. Nature’s very own Halloween horror show! 🕷️👻

They might look spooky, but these weird and wonderful finds all play a part in a healthy ecosystem. So next time you’re out in the park, take a closer look at what’s growing, crawling and creeping beneath your feet!

🎃 LOOK, DON’T DESTROY! Enjoy the spooky sights and leave nature to do its thing. 🍄🌿

💚🩵 FAIRTRADE 👇

🌍☕ As a Fairtrade Borough, we’re always glad of opportunities to shine a spotlight on Fairtrade and the choices we can all make!

At our In Bloom Community Awards, guests could sample Fairtrade chocolate and bananas, with Fairtrade tea and coffee served throughout the event too. 🍫🍌

Small, everyday choices can make a difference, and it’s great to help more people discover the Fairtrade options available to them. 💚
