We're inviting everyone in KL and beyond (age 16+) to attend a screening of this important information film on Wed 30 Sep at the Lunesdale Hall.

The UK faces a growing climate and nature emergency. Yet most people have never been fully briefed on what it means for our lives, our economy and our future. In November 2025, the National Emergency Briefing brought together leading experts to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis to politicians and other influential people in Westminster. That evidence is now on the public record.

The screening will be followed by a structured discussion to allow people to process what they have heard and find ways to engage positively around solutions in their local community. There will also be tea/coffee and other refreshments.

Fancy a fun night out? Join us for our first event of the AW season with the Jake Leg Jug Band on Fri 25 September!

Playing a mix of ragtime, blues and gospel, this lively act will get toes tapping from the opening bars. We're planning to arrange seating in cabaret style and there'll be space to dance, too. We've restocked the pop-up bar and we're raring to go.

OK, so I appreciate it's still officially summer, but...

We're hosting an acclaimed production of Charles Dickens's classic work: A Christmas Carol on Thursday 17 December at St Mary's Church and we don't want anyone to miss out!

Adapted and performed by Adam Z. Robinson in his inimitable style, this performance teases out the gothic aspects, presenting Dickens’s remarkable story as you’ve never seen it before - by turns hair-raising, thrilling and heartwarming.

Tickets are on sale now - just £15 - and we're expecting this event to be incredibly popular, so are recommending people book as soon as possible.

Please do come. At next year's Illuminate festival, we'll be staging a panel discussion with climate change expert Mike Berners-Lee, renewable energy researcher, Professor Alona Armstrong and local MP Lizzi Collinge. We hope that this screening will provide some all-important context for the Illuminate event and will act as a prompt for wider discussions.

We're excited to open our AW26 season with The Jake Leg Jug Band on Friday 25 September.

This lively band recreates the authentic sounds of 1920s and 20s America - jazz, blues, ragtime and gospel. Songs of murder, betrayal, gambling, liquor and redemption.

A vibrant live show that guarantees old-fashioned feel-good entertainment, transporting the audience back in time to the prohibition era, with a sound and look refined from 14 years on the road, performing nearly 800 gigs, releasing 10 albums and receiving airplay on BBC Radio 2 and Jazz FM.

It's time to gather once again to exercise our inner Cathys and Kates at St Mary's Wuthering Heights Day!

We'll assemble on the Glebe from 12 noon on Sunday 26 July (the marquee is up in case the weather isn't as kind as it was last year). The lovely Saphron will take us through our paces, learning the WH moves before we perform it en masse against the backdrop of Ruskin's View.

It's a fun event - we promise! - and it's free to attend and suitable for all ages and genders. Wear something red if you have it. It will definitely put a smile on your face. 🥰
