Introducing Shuiqingqing He, who will be performing a rare solo set on guzheng at Cube on 11th September.
Hé, Shuǐqīngqīng (何水清清) is a gǔzhēng (traditional Chinese zither) performer and musicologist whose work explores transcultural musical practices.
She is committed to developing new repertoire and collaborative performance practices that bring together Chinese and Western musical traditions as a founding member of Shui Mo Ensemble.
Through close partnerships with composers, SHUIMO explores innovative approaches to intercultural music-making, creating new artistic possibilities beyond conventional aesthetic boundaries.

Join us for an evening of improvisation where free music, Chinese opera, and electronics coexist.
On accordion, harmonium, guitar, banjo, bass clarinet, bowed cymbals, DIY circuits, zarb, guzheng, waterphone, field recordings, piano, shakuhachi & voice.
The night will end with a performance from all musicians, with improvised projections.
