Christ Church with St Ewen, Bristol

Christ Church with St Ewen, Bristol The only church worshipping by the classic Anglican order in the old City of Bristol. We use the Book of Common Prayer.

We are on the corner of Broad Street, Corn Street, High Street and Wine Street in the old City of Bristol. We are the only church in the old City of Bristol to hold regular services. We are a traditional church and our services, with very few exceptions, accord to the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. Our Bible readings are exclusively from the Authorised Version (King James Bible). We enjoy a very high

standard of preaching from our visiting clergy. Our Sunday services are sung, except in the school summer holidays by a choir of men and boys, led by our Director of Music, Jonathan Price. We have a Choral Eucharist on Sunday at 11am and Sung Evensong with an anthem and sermon at 6.30pm. If there is a fifth Sunday in the month the morning service is a Sung Matins service with Anthem and Sermon. At 1.05pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays we have a Holy Communion Service. We have regular concerts and recitals, often on a Wednesday lunch time which are well attended and we will keep you posted about these events. If you are a person who is put off church because of the modern words and long for the good old days when churches used the Book of Common Prayer we are probably just the right church for you are looked forward to welcoming you!
