🎨 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: LEE HODGES

Meet Lee Hodges ✨ artist, illustrator, educator and Chief of the Rambunctious Social Club!

Music sits at the heart of Lee’s creative process. An eclectic, experienced and endlessly curious artist! An internationally successful illustrator, Lee has carved out a unique niche in the music world, alongside a diverse range of commercial commissions. His clients have included WOMAD, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Waitrose, Songlines and the RHS, to name just a few. But Lee’s creativity doesn’t stop at illustration… For many years, he has been running the hugely popular Rambunctious Social Club, bringing music-filled events to venues across the South West. As DJ Hodguez, he swaps his visual colour palette for a sonic one! The year culminates in the legendary Mexican Night of the Dead Ball, combining Lee’s love of Mexican and Latin cultures with his passion for music, colour and celebration.

Lee is also the Decor Designer and Manager at Tropical Pressure Festival in Cornwall, where his visual imagination and eye for colour perfectly complement the festival’s celebration of tropical music. As an educator, Lee has spent the last 8 years lecturing on the Art Foundation at Bristol School of Art. His infectious colour and enthusiasm spill over into his teaching, creating a learning environment that is playful, experimental, slightly renegade and unexpected!

More recently, Lee has opened a new shared studio in Dartington, Eyetohand — a busy working studio that will also host inclusive workshops designed to encourage people to explore, experiment and play. IMPORTANT UPDATE -

Some of you may have spotted an advert in the latest edition of SBV Magazine stating that artist registration for our 2026 Arts Trail is currently open.

Unfortunately, an early version of our adverts has been published in error, rather than the one you see here.

Although a closing date is present on the printed advert, we’re really sorry for any confusion this may have caused, particularly for any artists who may have seen it and hoped to take part this year.

Registration for this year's trail has now closed, and our participating artists and venues are organised ahead of the trail on 3rd & 4th of October.

We’re hugely grateful for the interest in this year’s event and can’t wait to share more about our wonderful 2026 artists and workshops with you over the coming weeks.

Art on the Hill Needs You 🎨
We’d love you to come to the Meeting ✨

Art on the Hill has been part of our community for 18 years, bringing local artists, families, and neighbours together for a brilliant weekend of creativity. It’s a much-loved event, but this year it may not go ahead unless we can find a few people to help organise it.
We urgently need volunteers, including a Chairperson and a School Liaison / Workshops Contact for V.P. Primary School — without these roles, the art trail cannot take place.

Even a small amount of help makes a big difference, and existing volunteers will be there to support anyone new.
