The 2026 Prestonville Great Get Together is done. The bunting has been put away until 2027. Our thanks to all our volunteers and performers who gave their time for free. Big thanks also to the St Luke’s Church, Chimney House , Port Hall Stores (should be ‘emporium’!) and newcomers to the party Tung Wang.

And most of all thank you to all of you who came along and spent time together.

The Great Get Together started ten years ago, founded nationally by the family of Jo Cox, to foster community and compassion, rejecting the politics of hate. We’ve been proud with all of you to be part of that message. We hope to see you next year which is so needed in our town, country and world.

🥳 Great Get Together 2026 is tomorrow

Here’s the running order, including timings for the Prestonville Village Show and some entry inspiration. 😂

A few reminders:
🚗 road closures start 10am so please move your cars 🙏
👶 keep your child safe - kid’s must be supervised
💰bring cash and coins for tombola/kids treats
📿 tug-of-war teams - consider heads and bare knees - it’s on the street!
🕶️ remember your hat and sunscreen
🐶 we’ll provide 💦 for your best friend at the Dog Show (top of Buxton).

Join Hannah Reed, Educational Consultant and owner of Post 16 with Hannah for a timely talk on how to support your post 16 teen.

Hannah aims to provide practical advice to parents on:

- Understanding the pressures facing young people today
- Supporting motivation and wellbeing
- Post-16 and post-18 pathways
