This week’s throwback features local legend Darryl Tweed 🏍️💨

Unfortunately, Darryl had an off at the NW200 recently, but we’re glad to hear he’s in good spirits as he begins his recovery 💪 Everyone at the club would like to wish him a speedy recovery and send our best wishes for the road ahead 👊🫂

We’ve no doubt he’ll be back doing what he does best before long and we can’t wait to see the local legend back where he belongs! 🏁

A big thank you to everyone who attended tonight’s club meeting — it was fantastic to see such a great turnout as preparations continue for another exciting season of racing 🏍️🏁

A special thanks also goes to Lee Hara for taking the time to join us for an excellent Q&A session. It was brilliant to hear his insights, experiences, and stories from the road racing scene.

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who came out to support the club’s Big Breakfast this morning — we managed to serve over 180 breakfasts!

🌟 Sponsorship Opportunities Available for Iconic Armoy Road Races 2026🌟

Key Races Up for Grabs as Rider Entries Open

The Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club (AMRRC) has issued a call for sponsors ahead of this year’s Armoy Road Races as rider entries for the iconic event officially open.

Taking place on the 24th and 25th July, key races are available for sponsorship including the Supertwins 1 race on Friday night as well as the Open Race on Saturday.

“Excitement is ramping up for this year’s event, and the Club’s volunteers are currently hard at work preparing to make it the biggest and best year yet,” said Gareth McAuley, AMRRC Chairman.

“Our rider entries opened earlier this month, and we’ve already seen an influx of entries. Much like previous years, we’re expecting to see some of the sport’s biggest names signing up to take on the three-mile circuit.

“The Armoy Road Races has grown to become one of the most highly regarded events in the road racing calendar and we’ve said it many times before, but we simply couldn’t host it without the help of our generous sponsors – we are indebted to them. This year, we have some races available for sponsorship and it’s a great opportunity for any local business to get involved with this thrilling event.

“Sponsors will have their name associated with the race, an advert in the programme, exposure on our social media channels and VIP tickets for the corporate hospitality marquee with its own bespoke viewing area, which is ideal for witnessing all the action.”

Last year, the Armoy Road Races was streamed live on BBC Sport Northern Ireland to a global audience for the first time. The event was viewed by approximately 11 million people in countries such as Abu Dhabi, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the United States.

“We were delighted with the viewership figures we received for 2025’s event – they were truly very impressive,” Gareth continued. “Worldwide interest in the sport is definitely increasing, from fans, riders and sponsors, which will go a long way to securing its future.”

Part funded by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, the Armoy Road Races will take place on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th July culminating in the prestigious Bayview Hotel Race of Legends.
