“How To Actually Be Yourself”

Conor Creighton is coming to Yarn for an evening talk and Q&A, alongside a two-hour workshop the following day.

Conor’s work explores what happens when we begin to notice the invisible scripts shaping our lives and realise we might have the freedom to choose something different.

For years, he’s been trying to dismantle his own patterns, performances and expectations in an attempt to figure out how to simply be himself, and his time at Yarn is an invitation into that conversation.

Come for the talk or go deeper in the workshop.

Talk + Q&A: 31 July, 7 pm

Workshop: 1 Aug, 10 am – 12 pm
https://www.yarnballycastle.com/event-details/workshop-how-to-actually-be-yourself-with-conor-creighton

In this talk, Conor Creighton explores the invisible scripts, shaped by culture, expectation, and the quiet fear of what others might think, that keep us performing a version of ourselves instead of actually being ourselves.

Clare Sands live at Yarn.

is a sixth-generation fiddle player, bilingual singer and one of the most compelling voices in contemporary Irish folk music.

Her new album, They Tried To Bury Us, was written across Ulster and gives voice to what is too often ignored or erased: endangered birds, lost words, old myths, displaced people, threatened landscapes, defiant poetry. Music that stands its ground.

Live, Clare's completely magnetic. Fierce and joyful in equal measure, weaving fiddle, voice, storytelling and rhythm together.

One for those who like their folk music wild-hearted, politically awake and deeply connected to place.
