Make plant pigments with our artist in residence, Joan Alexander.

Learn how to make natural pigments from plants and create an anthotype, a photographic print made using sunlight.

Bring a flower or plant that holds meaning for you, comes from a significant place or has been grown or gathered locally.

You’ll also explore shadow casting and experiment with objects, negatives and cut-out shapes to create light-based compositions.

Tonight we welcomed artist Joan Alexander to Yarn for the beginning of her week in residence.

Life Drawing is back at Yarn, this time with artist and educator Harry Coates.

Across six Tuesday evenings, you’ll have time to develop your drawing practice through close observation of the human form. The course is open to everyone, whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to deepen your skills.

Harry is an Irish artist based in Aghadowey, best known for his expressive figurative paintings. An experienced educator, his work has appeared in exhibitions across Ireland and the UK, including the Royal Ulster Academy.

All levels welcome. All materials provided.
