Trev & I are starting to catch up following last weekend so I just wanted to say a personal thank you from both of us. 8 events in, we continue to organise the Midlands Air Festival on a voluntary basis for the local community, families and to encourage the next generation of aviators.
This year saw fantastic weather with 317 hot air balloon flights going ahead including some of your favourite special shapes with a record 126 taking to the skies on Saturday AM!
Friday Nightfire was a standout with Chris Burkett tearing up the sky followed a graceful display by Airborne Pyrotechnics before we led into our stunning hot air balloon night glow. Alan and his team then rounded off a perfect evening with our One Moment in Time firework finale.
Not forgetting our extensive air display featuring favourites such as the Gyro, RAF Falcons and Sea King, we also had new displays such as the sky filling Team Raven, the unique formation of the Bronco and B17, and who could forget the MiG 17F's first UK display since restoration - plenty of afterburner! Plus we had the RAF Red Arrows join us on the ground for a meet and greet that went from one side of the site to the other!
So from Trev & I, a huge thank you to our teams who we couldn't do this without, our pilots and crews, but most of all, thank you to each and every one of you for joining us this year!
So for now, we sign off whilst we continue to put MAF 2026 to bed, but Claire will continue to post everyone's highlights on social media!
