Midlands Air Festival

22/10/2026

Returning to the Midlands Air Festival next year is MJ Ballooning from Bristol! For their first shape, piloted by Alex Harvey is Lips!

Lips is 26 years old now and one for the parents - it was built to advertise Polaroid JoyCam film from the late 1990s! For those who are too young to remember, this was a form of film you put in a camera that allowed you to take a photo and with minimal waiting, let you to see the picture there and then, without the need to put the film in to be developed...yes we had to go to a little bit more effort back then than snapping a photo on our phone or camera today!

Stay tuned for more announcements soon, but in the meantime, get your tickets to the best aviation event in the Midlands! Ticket prices will never be cheaper and some options such as our premium Slipstream Enclosure and premium campsite now running low! Visit our website for more information!

THE VIEW FROM THE HILL!

Many of you will be aware of the famous ‘Henman Hill’ at Wimbledon. Well, we at the Midlands Air Festival also have a famous hill too. Our hill has become well known for being a brilliant place in the aviation world to watch an air display or mass hot air balloon ascent from.

Up till now, our hill has not got a name but we think its about time it did! So we are launching a competition to give our hill a suitable name. The winners will receive two three-day tickets with premium parking, for our spectacular 2027 show.

All suggestions will be considered, (except Hilly Mc Hill Face!) The closing date will be 5th November 2026 and we will announce the winner shortly after that.

We already have pre-season tickets on sale and it’s a great idea to take advantage of our kick off prices which will never be cheaper than now!

Well everyone, here we go and we are kicking off with some real sound and fury. The sound will come from a giant snarling radial engine and the fury will be from the massive Hawker Fury fighter. Reputed to be one of the most powerful piston engine fighters ever built and currently flying, this monster will be ripping up the skies over Ragley Hall at next year’s Midlands Air Festival!

Designated the FB.11, this aircraft type was the last propellor fighter to serve in the Royal Navy. The Fury was built just after the end of WW2 but did see service in the Korean war and in the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. This particular Fury was one of 60 that was built for the Iraqi air force but she carries the livery of a Royal Navy prototype aircraft.

The Fury is powered by a massive 18 cylinder Centaurus, sleeve valved radial engine providing 2,480 horse power with a top speed of 460mph and will take your breath away and give you shivers down your spine!

Advance tickets are already on sale at the lowest prices they will ever be, so don’t miss this chance to save pounds. Children are still currently free under 13. Premium car parking, our seated Slipstream Enclosure and our Premium camp site are also on sale and these always sell out first so don’t hang around!
