How far can you ride? Find out. Join the Great Cycle Challenge Canada and ride throughout August to fight kids' cancer! Set yourself a personal kilometre ride target and pedal throughout the month to achieve your fitness goals. You'll get a FREE app to log your kilometres and you can track your progress against friends, colleagues and other riders across Canada! It doesn't matter if your challenge is to ride 15 km or 1,500 km throughout the month, it's all about achieving your personal ride goal, getting fit and kicking cancer's butt to give our kids the brighter futures they deserve. SickKids Foundation is a Canadian-registered charitable organisation.

UPDATE: Lawson is getting his energy back after surgery to remove his tumour!

5-year-old Lawson has been bravely battling rhabdomyosarcoma since his diagnosis in February 2025. ✊

And on August 5, this courageous little man underwent his biggest surgery yet.

His mango-sized tumour was removed along with his bladder, prostate, and a small portion of his pelvic bone.

Lawson has been using a walker as he heals, and he still has his two ostomy bags which he will have until he reaches maturity.

His family told us, "Every day, we see a little more of our happy, energetic boy coming back. He's looking better and better, and we couldn't be more proud of how hard he's working through recovery." 🧡

They're still waiting to find out if he needs a little more chemotherapy but in the meantime, the focus is taking things one day at a time and focusing on healing.

We're all cheering Lawson on through his recovery as he continues to KICK CANCER'S BUTT! 💪

We've watched in awe as you chased down ambitious goals, rallied your communities, battled challenging weather, set new PBs, overcame setbacks, discovered new trails, explored beautiful scenery, and more!

You should all be SO proud of your incredible efforts. 🧡

We rode for Chloe, Lawson, Kursten, Liam, Dominique, Mikayla and ALL kids impacted by cancer...

And the aching muscles are worth it, because your support will SAVE LITTLE LIVES across Canada. ❤️

Well, it's safe to say that you went BIG for KIDS FIGHTING CANCER. ✊

Plus, today is the first day of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and we will continue to advocate for research into better treatments and cures for these brave kids and their families.

P.S. Our site will stay open throughout September so you can collect any remaining donations and squeeze in any final kilometres towards your ride goal (in case of bad weather or a late start).

WOW… we've officially raised $6,000,000 to FIGHT KIDS’ CANCER and SAVE LITTLE LIVES! 🥳

Your riding and fundraising efforts have been seriously incredible, and we're NOT slowing down! 🔥

9-year-old Mikayla made this '$6,000,000' sign to mark this AMAZING milestone with you and the GCC community across Canada.

She definitely knows a thing or two about KICKING CANCER’S BUTT herself… she’s been doing it for almost 2 years. 💪

Mikayla was diagnosed with mixed phenotype acute leukemia in December 2024, and has endured intensive treatment to help her beat the disease.

While her treatment journey is not yet over, she’s currently in the maintenance phase and able to just be a kid again. 🧡

Your fundraising efforts are funding vital research into treatments and cures for childhood cancers, to give kids like Mikayla the brighter futures they deserve.

GCC’ERS, you’re AWESOME! ✊

7-year legacy rider Brian is riding with you this month… and he’s now raised an incredible $30,877 over 7 years! 🌟

In this year’s challenge alone, he’s clocked an impressive 234km and raised $3,258 (so far) to KICK CANCER’S BUTT! ✊

When he first joined GCC, Brian didn’t have a direct connection to the cause but he was looking for a way to give back.

He’s always loved cycling, so GCC seemed perfect – it checked all the boxes, and he’s been hooked ever since he joined! 🧡

This is Brian’s 7th year riding, and he always tries to give himself a riding challenge that will push his limits and challenge him physically.

Last year was the only one where he took it easier, with good reason… he had both knees fully replaced. 🫢

To amplify his challenge, Brian dresses as the superhero of the year for all of his big charity rides and pulls along a trailer with signage for SickKids and his QR code.

He’ll even wear the superhero outfit for work functions and local events around town. Wow, that’s dedication! 🦸‍♂️

This GCC legend also collects empties for his challenge and it’s become a local expectation to see a big bin on his lawn at the end of every summer.

Brian, congratulations on cracking $30k for our kids and THANK YOU for your incredible support.

UPDATE: $5,500,000 RAISED to FIGHT KIDS’ CANCER! 🤯

11-year-old Dominique made this beautiful sign to say a big “THANK YOU!” to all our riders across the country for hitting this massive milestone. 🧡

Dominique fought so hard throughout her frontline treatment for leukemia, and she’s now in maintenance and able to be a kid again – returning to school and enjoying her favourite activities once more.

She’s an amazing, intelligent, creative, resilient young woman, and she continues to share her many talents with the world. 🌟

Thank you for riding and raising for kids like Dominique… because they should be LIVING life, NOT fighting for it.

Let’s keep this going, and see how far we can take this movement! ✊

What an amazing day it was, we’re still buzzing with excitement!

It was just incredible to see riders across the country rally together to take action for kids fighting cancer.

And the results speak for themselves: we beat last year’s KCBD total by over $40,000... that’s no small feat!

It’s safe to say that we KICKED CANCER’S BUTT! ✊
