How far can you ride? Find out. Join the Great Cycle Challenge Canada and ride throughout August to fight kids' cancer! Set yourself a personal kilometre ride target and pedal throughout the month to achieve your fitness goals. You'll get a FREE app to log your kilometres and you can track your progress against friends, colleagues and other riders across Canada! It doesn't matter if your challenge is to ride 15 km or 1,500 km throughout the month, it's all about achieving your personal ride goal, getting fit and kicking cancer's butt to give our kids the brighter futures they deserve. SickKids Foundation is a Canadian-registered charitable organisation.

13-year-old Briella is a 7-year legacy rider who has raised over $24,000 to end childhood cancer! 🤯

When Briella was just 5 years old, her mom got a postcard in the mail about Great Cycle Challenge. She grabbed it, decided she wanted to do it, and she’s been riding ever since…

She told us, “Every year I try to push myself a little harder, ride a little farther, and raise a little more money.” ✊

This year, Briella clocked 457km and raised $7,568 to fund vital childhood cancer research and save little lives!

Since 2025, riding has become a family effort as her 3-year-old brother Oaklen has started pedaling with her… he rode 68km this year!

While cancer hasn’t directly affected her or her siblings, she's been aware of its impact on kids and their families since she learned about a little girl in her community named Lilee Jean who passed away from neuroblastoma.

Then last year, while she was doing the challenge with her cousins in Calgary, their friend James passed away from cancer.

This year, she dedicated her challenge to Eloise, a local girl who beat cancer and is now in remission. ❤️

In Briella’s words, “I’m really proud that I’ve kept going, and I hope I can keep doing it for a long time.” 💪

Briella, you’re an absolute legend… the whole GCC family is also incredibly proud of you and the legacy you’ve built for kids fighting cancer. 🧡

UPDATE: 12-year-old Chloe is in maintenance and doing great! 🧡

The amazing Chloe (pictured here with her doctor) was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma in August 2025, and has been courageously kicking cancer’s butt ever since. ✊

Chloe has endured intensive chemotherapy, surgery to remove the tumour, and proton radiation, as well as trips to the emergency room for RSV, COVID, and other infections.

Thankfully, she’s now in the maintenance phase of treatment, with her parents telling us, “It’s so great to see her more like herself.” 😊

She has been enjoying advocating for causes including childhood cancer research and being a part of the movement to end childhood cancer for good.

As well as being a keen advocate, Chloe is a smart and creative young lady who loves following her curiosity and being immersed in projects.

So, here’s to more time spent making art, crafting, baking, taking photos, and being active, and less time in hospital – as it should be! 🖌️🧁📸

Chloe, we’re all so glad to see you doing well in the maintenance phase… WOOHOO! 😄

12-year-old Mika KICKED CANCER’S BUTT for loved ones affected by the disease! 🚴‍♂️

This amazing kid rode 1,071km and raised a stunning $38,249 in his 2nd Great Cycle Challenge – smashing his riding and fundraising goals! 🌟

Mika loves riding bikes and when he heard about GCC, he knew this was the event for him.

In his own words, “There are many people in my life that have had cancer, such as my mom, my grandma, and some of my friends… I want to raise money for the fight against cancer.”

His efforts this year landed him in the #4 spot on the individual leaderboard, and catapulted his all-time total raised to over $50,000 = WOW! 🤯

Mika’s proud parents told us, “It was tough, but he showed determination and grit to reach his goals. Mika rode his bike nearly every day in August, and mapped out a plan to achieve his goal of 1,000km in a month. He averaged 35km per day over 29 days!”

His hard work and dedication to the cause inspired his family, friends and community to get behind him and support his challenge, with phenomenal results. 👏

The legacy this inspiring young man has built in just 2 YEARS will make a real difference and save little lives across Canada.

Mika, you’re a superstar… thank you for your efforts to end childhood cancer! 🙌

UPDATE: Rik was our 2026 bike draw winner! 🏆🚲

8-year legacy rider Rik was the lucky winner of our annual bike draw that took place in the month of June.

He is a long-time rider with an impressive legacy of 5,822km ridden and $7,401 raised to save little lives!

Rik picked up his bike from our friends at KindHuman last weekend, and shared this great pic. 🧡

Team “StrongAsHal” KICKED CANCER’S BUTT for Hallie-Lynn, and all the other kids and families impacted by cancer! ✊

This amazing team is led by former GCC ambassador Hallie-Lynn’s dad, Joel, and includes Hallie-Lynn herself, her mom, her siblings, and 20 other butt-kicking legends!

In this year’s challenge, the team logged a collective 3,914km and raised an impressive $14,281 to end childhood cancer.

This was the team’s 4th year, and their 2026 efforts catapulted them to an all-time total of over $60,000 raised = WOW!

Hallie-Lynn’s mom, Terrah, told us:

“After watching our daughter battle high-risk neuroblastoma, every ride is a reminder of why we’re doing this. Great Cycle Challenge gives us the opportunity to turn our family’s story into hope for other children facing cancer.” 🧡

Hallie-Lynn has beaten the odds – following a brave battle with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma, she is now cancer-free and thriving at age 5!

This amazing young lady inspired, and personally pedaled in, an amazing collective effort to fund vital childhood cancer research…

UPDATE: Lawson is getting his energy back after surgery to remove his tumour!

5-year-old Lawson has been bravely battling rhabdomyosarcoma since his diagnosis in February 2025. ✊

And on August 5, this courageous little man underwent his biggest surgery yet.

His mango-sized tumour was removed along with his bladder, prostate, and a small portion of his pelvic bone.

Lawson has been using a walker as he heals, and he still has his two ostomy bags which he will have until he reaches maturity.

His family told us, "Every day, we see a little more of our happy, energetic boy coming back. He's looking better and better, and we couldn't be more proud of how hard he's working through recovery." 🧡

They're still waiting to find out if he needs a little more chemotherapy but in the meantime, the focus is taking things one day at a time and focusing on healing.

We're all cheering Lawson on through his recovery as he continues to KICK CANCER'S BUTT! 💪

We've watched in awe as you chased down ambitious goals, rallied your communities, battled challenging weather, set new PBs, overcame setbacks, discovered new trails, explored beautiful scenery, and more!

You should all be SO proud of your incredible efforts. 🧡

We rode for Chloe, Lawson, Kursten, Liam, Dominique, Mikayla and ALL kids impacted by cancer...

And the aching muscles are worth it, because your support will SAVE LITTLE LIVES across Canada. ❤️

Well, it's safe to say that you went BIG for KIDS FIGHTING CANCER. ✊

Plus, today is the first day of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and we will continue to advocate for research into better treatments and cures for these brave kids and their families.

P.S. Our site will stay open throughout September so you can collect any remaining donations and squeeze in any final kilometres towards your ride goal (in case of bad weather or a late start).

We can't believe it's already here, but there's one thing that's for sure... our amazing community is going to finish STRONG! 💪

It's time to take one final action to get this done.
