✨ Meet Coach Deb✨

Deborah is the Director of Nokee Kwe in London, a role she hopes to retire from sometime next year. Over the years, her work has extended beyond leadership and operations to include tech support, payroll and accounting, as well as social media and marketing.
She is currently writing a book reflecting on her more than 26 years as a white leader working within an Indigenous organization, exploring the experiences, challenges, lessons, and relationships that have shaped her journey.
When she’s not working, Deborah is an avid wildlife photographer and enthusiastic volunteer. She enjoys sketching, refinishing antique furniture, gardening, dancing of any kind, improving her French, tent camping and exploring. Most of all, she loves spending time with her husband of 10 years, her adult children and their partners, and her lively household of two dogs and four cats.
She has coached Dancing with the Stars at the CASO station for many years and loves watching the dancers grow and delight in their own abilities and potential.

✨ Meet Coach Joy✨

I'm Joy Colman Sudicy. My husband, Rob, and I have coached Dancing With The Stars for most of the 10 years that it has existed. The last couple of years I've taught solo.
Our passion with Caso began at a New Year's dance many years ago. Caso was in the beginning states of renovation. We could seen it's future, just as we'd imagined it's past.
Coaching was a small way to give back, as we were social ballroom dancers at the time. This beautiful building has given us and the community many wonderful memories.
The future is very bright as we see young people like Olivia and Joe, volunteering their time to keep our treasures, like Caso, moving forward. It's been a pleasure working with them.

With hundreds of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, magical displays, and festive fun for the whole family, it takes a wonderful team of volunteers to bring it all to life!

✨ Introducing Olivia and Joe ✨

It’s only been one year but Joe can’t wait to be a part of this amazing event again. He had an incredible experience last year learning the salsa and is eager to share a new style. Joe continues his career at Huron Tractor and has been spending time training for a half marathon, helping around the family business and hitting balls at the Pinafore courts. Joe has been spending most of his free time though, with his new dance partner. He continues to seek new opportunities to get involved in the community he is so proud to call home. With an appreciation for the history of St. Thomas, as we grow, his desire to preserve it does too.

Olivia grew up on a farm outside of Delaware, where she learned first hand how strong family support grows a successful business. Working at Riva in Port Stanley she enjoys interacting with patrons from many different communities. This fall, Olivia continues her education in the Human Resources program at Fanshawe College. She’s passionate about working with and getting to know many different people, hoping to continue to do so in her future career. Currently, Olivia enjoys running with the Caps Off Run Club, being an aunt to her 3 nieces and nephew, and exploring the wonderful markets in the community. With a little convincing, she is excited to share this new unexpected talent with you.

✨ Introducing Christy and Ian ✨

We are Christy and Ian Gee. We competed in DWTS 3 years ago and enjoyed it so much we are back again. We had always considered taking dance lessons but never seemed to find the time with raising a family, work, and owning and operating a business. When we were approached three years ago it seemed like the perfect opportunity! Sitting back watching people dance always amazed me and I had thought I think we could do that. Preparing for the Big Night is scary, a little overwhelming, time consuming, super exciting, so much fun and very satisfying! It brings out our creative side, determination and the introduction to new aches and pains!
We have two amazing daughters who have supported us throughout our crazy ideas and our house wouldn’t be complete without our Golden Retriever Lucy and our foster fail Sh*tzu Pepper.
Six years ago we opened Harbour Cheesecake and also took on the role of bar tender when we opened The Hydrant in the Firehall Market 3 years later. What a blast we had! However, the time came that we had to streamline things as we found we were only home to sleep. We closed the store fronts and The Hydrant to focus on family, and expanding our cheesecake radius to further away places so more people could enjoy it. We upgraded our Food trailer and hit the road when WE wanted so we had a better balance in our lives and a little more time to dance!
We hope you enjoy what we bring to the dance floor as much as we enjoyed learning it from our amazing coach and friend Julie.
If only there was a blooper reel at the end of this dance!

✨ Meet Coach Julia Cassis✨

As a seasoned ballroom and Latin dance instructor with over 30 years of experience, I've had the privilege of sharing my passion with students of all levels, from beginners taking their first steps to competitive dancers striving for excellence. As the owner of Let’s Dance London, I've built a reputation for delivering personalized instruction and fostering a supportive community.
When I'm not on the dance floor, I enjoy teaching as a supply teacher with the French school board, replacing teachers, EA’s and ECE’s . My most recent venture has been obtaining my real estate licence, which allows me to explore new ways of connecting with people and helping them achieve their goals. Through dance, teaching, and real estate, I've learned that it's all about the people and relationships you build. I'm grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in my community and to do what I love every day.

✨ Introducing Meg and Nate ✨

Born and raised in St. Thomas and surrounding area, Meg and Nate enjoy contributing and giving back to their community.
Meg and Nate are both Registered Massage Therapists who take pride in providing their clients with exceptional, evidence-based care. Meg has expanded her career into education and currently teaches in the Massage Therapy programs at Conestoga and Fanshawe Colleges. Nate is the founder of the Rip Current Information Project, an initiative dedicated to educating the public and helping standardize communication about dangerous currents in the Great Lakes.
While neither had a background in dance, Meg and Nate had a blast learning to salsa during the 2023 DWTS fundraiser. They loved being part of a fantastic group, supporting a great cause, and stepping outside their comfort zones.
They’re thrilled to be back on the dance floor for the 10th Annual Dancing With the Stars for the Station and can’t wait to entertain you!

✨ Meet Coach Deb & Michael ✨

Deb Riopelle is an avid dancer and choreographer, specializing in creating personalized dance routines for couples celebrating weddings and other special life events. She also teaches a variety of ballroom, Latin, and swing dance styles from her home studio in Ingersoll.
Deb has showcased her creativity and choreography on stage, performing with one of her students at Dancing With the Stars 2023.
Deb is also a passionate artist and painter. Her artwork is wonderfully diverse, and she often combines her two passions by painting dancers and movement. For Deb, both dance and art are ways to express creativity, connection, and joy.

Michael lived most of his life in the Tillsonburg area but has been living in St Thomas for the pass several years.
Getting hooked on dance in the mid 90’s with the Country line dance craze, Michael soon joined a dance team which in 2002 began competing in the large team show dance category with great success placing 3rd in January 2003 at the UCWDC Worlds competition in Nashville Tennessee.
In 2006 Michael started taking Ballroom lessons and soon found himself attending classes 4 nights a week, going out dancing the other three.
In 2008 started training to become a ballroom dance instructor, American smooth and rhythm style.
In 2009 started teaching ballroom dance in St Thomas and Simcoe Ontario, introducing hundreds of people to the joy of dance.
Covid and personal obligations triggered an early retirement for Michael, however he has now returned to do what he really enjoys, teaching dance.
