Portage Ex holds the distinction of being one of Western Canada's oldest continuously running fairs. There is something for everyone at the fair - 4-H achievements, horse and cattle shows, family and children's entertainment, a petting zoo, midway rides and games of chance, displays of various nature as well as food prepared by local organizations! The fair

kicks off on Friday afternoon and will be followed by two jam packed days on Saturday and Sunday. We are proud of our exhibition grounds and facilities and wish to thank our many volunteers, corporate sponsors and donors for their continued support. Join us in the celebration of our 151st Portage Fair and experience agriculture!!!

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Hi my name is Dawson. I am 10 years old and this is my first year in 4-H. This is my steer Hurricane and he's a Black Angus. I enjoy taking care of him and brushing him. I feed him a mix of oats, barley and corn. I estimate finish weight to be 1200 lbs.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Hi, my name is Adleigh. This is my first year in 4-H. My steers name is Nemo. Nemo eats mixed grain with corn and hay. He is nice and calm, but is a pain to walk unless I talk to him. I am excited for the fair, but will be sad to see Nemo go. I think he will be 1350lbs at the fair. Thank you for your support.

Hi my name is Keirsten Davey and this is my 6th year in 4-H. This is Nemo, he is a limo X steer. I think that he will make wonderful meat for you. He is a dark red steer with great personality. He is thick and deep which will make lots of steaks. By fair I think that he will weigh about 1410 lbs

Hello, my name is Jamie. This is my 5th year in 4-H. My steers name is Nacho, he is a simmental. Nacho is always full of energy, and hates other people. He stepped on and kicked at my sister, a lot! I think Nacho will weigh 1250lbs at the fair, he sure will be tasty on your grill! Thank you for your continuous support.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Hello, my name is Isabella Shaw. This is my 3rd year in 4H. I am part of the Portage Beef 4H Club. This year I have a project steer named Fireball. Fireball is a black angus steer. His start weight was 638 pounds at the beginning of December, by the time the fair comes our end weight goal is 1450 pounds. Fireball gets fed alfalfa, 60-30-10 feed up until may, now he is on Full Throttle feed. Fireball and I are super excited to see you at the fair and sale this July! See you there.
