On May 13, 1994 “The Crow” was released in theaters! Directed by Alex Proyas (Dark City) and written by David J. Schow (Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III) and John Shirley, which based on the 1989 comic book series by James O'Barr. It stars Brandon Lee in his final film role, as Eric Draven, a rock musician who is resurrected from the dead to seek vengeance against the gang who murdered him and his fiancée. Lee was fatally wounded by a prop gun during filming. As he had finished most of his scenes, the film was completed through script rewrites, a stunt double (Chad Stahelski) and digital effects. The film also features Ernie Hudson, Michael Wincott, David Patrick Kelly, Bai Ling, Laurence Mason, Michael Massee, Bill Raymond, Marco Rodríguez, Sofia Shinas, Anna Levine, Tony Todd, and Jon Polito. Michael Berryman filmed scenes as the Skull Cowboy, Eric's spirit guide, but his scenes were cut from the finished film. The original soundtrack album The Cure (their song, "Burn", became the film's main theme), The Jesus and Mary Chain, Rage Against the Machine, Machines of Loving Grace, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, Violent Femmes, Rollins Band, Panthers, and Helmet.

Sad News😔

We are saddened to hear that legendary Japanese horror writer Koji Suzuki has reportedly passed away at the age of 68.

Suzuki forever changed horror with his 1991 novel Ring, which inspired Ring, The Ring, and helped launch the global J-horror movement. His work also inspired films including Dark Water, Sadako vs. Kayako, Rings, and many more.

Often called “the Stephen King of Japan,” Suzuki’s influence on horror is immeasurable, shaping an entire generation of supernatural terror in both Japan and the West.

Rest in peace to a true master of horror.
