Age Friendly is thrilled to share some exciting news, our annual tournament has officially been approved to increase capacity to 500 anglers this year. This expansion reflects the incredible enthusiasm for our annual tournament year after year, and it marks a major milestone in the growth of the event. Selling out in hours has become the norm, and now even more anglers will have the chance to take part in one of the region’s most anticipated winter traditions.

If there’s one thing this tournament has taught us, it’s that our youth come here to compete, and they take it seriously. Every year we hear the same thing from parents, grandparents, and the anglers themselves: the kids want a real shot at the big prizes.

So we listened.

For 2027, we’ve created a way for those dedicated young anglers to compete for the main prizes, right alongside everyone else. And don’t worry, youth under 12 will still have their own chance to win some great cash prizes too.

It’s all about keeping the tournament fun, fair, and exciting for every age.
We can’t wait to see what the youth bring to the ice this year!

We’re excited to share that the 7th Annual Ice Fishing Tournament is shaping up to be our best yet. Over the summer we consulted with anglers, sponsors, and, most importantly we listened to the youth who joined us last year. Based on everyone's feedback, we’ve updated our prize structure to include more cash prizes and expanded some categories. Full details will be announced shortly.
