As another football season draws to a close, we want to recognise a very special group of people who spend countless hours on the sidelines looking after our players, coaches and staff, our incredible Sports Trainers.

Through every training session and every match day, in the heat, cold, wind and rain, you are there. Strapping, treating, assessing, supporting, reassuring and, when needed, putting the wellbeing of our people first.

Much of what you do happens quietly behind the scenes. It’s the early arrivals, the late finishes, the preparation before anyone takes the field and the care that continues long after the final siren.

Our players are able to take the field each week knowing they have people on the boundary who genuinely care about their health and wellbeing. Our coaches and staff know that when something happens, they have a trusted team ready to step in.

Your knowledge, commitment, compassion and countless hours are an invaluable part of our football club.

To every Sports Trainer who has pulled on the trainers’ vest and stood alongside our teams this season, thank you.

After a brilliant home-and-away season, the boys now take on the Phantoms with a spot in the next stage of the finals on the line.

A HUGE THANK YOU FROM THE ROYS! ❤️💙💛

Over the past four weeks, there has been an enormous amount of work happening behind the scenes at Sam Johnson Reserve, as we prepared our Fitzroy Community & Sports Clubs clubrooms for the next exciting chapter.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and pitched in — packing, moving, lifting, sorting, storing, cleaning out and, in some cases, wondering how we had managed to accumulate quite so much stuff over the years! 😄

Whether you gave us an hour, a day or several weekends, every pair of hands made a difference. We simply couldn’t have done it without the wonderful volunteers and members who continue to give their time so generously to our club and community.

Now the hard work gives way to the exciting part!

We’re looking forward to seeing the transformation of our clubrooms through the redevelopment being undertaken by the City of Charles Sturt and Thorne Constructions, with support through grant funding from the SANFL Facilities Fund.

It’s an exciting investment in the future of Sam Johnson Reserve and the Fitzroy community, and we can’t wait to see it all take shape.

It’s a long one, but the under 10s have played The Fitzroy Way all season, here is a long breakdown of it. Fitzroy is an amazing club, with amazing culture, and we are building something very special with our group.

We want to be an example to any potential parents that are thinking about having their kids join us next season.

So let me show you “The Fitzroy way” in under 30 seconds.

Spread and be an option

There is a lot of good stuff that you don’t see, but watch this.

Louie - wins the ball and kicks it forward under pressure

50 GAMES The Man. The Myth. The Legend.

A huge milestone for one of our junior club legends, with Lucas Baggio notching up 50 senior games for the Roys!

From coming through the Fitzroy junior ranks to now making his mark in the seniors, Baggio is another great example of what our club pathway is all about.

And while most players spend half-time listening to the coaches… Baggio can usually be found on the phone to the missus. Priorities.

Congratulations on 50 games, Baggio a Fitzroy lad through and through, with plenty more to come! 50 UP!
